Does Southwest ever add flights?

In your experience, have you ever seen SW add flights? Our trip in Oct, we were thinking about coming up a day early. The day we are thinking about only has 3 flights total(and this is a Saturday!), two of which are sold out, the 3rd a really late flight(defeating the purpose of coming in a day early). I was just wondering if they have ever added flights due to demand?

Yes..they have from MSP, at least. But, I have heard this is not common.

It's VERY uncommon for SW to add flights. Their fleet is already stretched, they likely won't have any available planes to add another flight.

Very rarely. To add a flight, they would most likely have to cancel another one, they only have a certain number of planes. The legacy airlines do that a lot but Southwest doesn't. One of the reasons they don't put out schedules 330 days in advance like the legacy airlines, they have a more stable schedule.

How about changing flight times? We've flown them twice rt and I don't recall a change, I'd love to have our return flight bumped to later.

Again, rarely. In 10 years of flying SW, I don't think I've ever had a flight time changed.

Last year the flights out of mco to stl on 10/31 (a Saturday) only had three flights listed for a long time but they ended up adding more later. I want to say the three that were listed originally were all direct flights and later they added flights with layovers. Just keep checking!

nope but they do remove flights......
especially the ones i booked 6 months in advance.
