Does Santa wrap your presents?

Our gifts from Santa were never wrapped. He would take our stockings and after they were filled, he would set our gifts from him in each of our own little areas. And he always had a "theme" to our gifts. We would get to come down on Christmas morning in reverse birth order and would spend like an hour looking at our gifts and then showing each ohter what we got. Then we would take turns opening our wrapped gifts from Mom, Dad and each other, one at a time. This whole process takes hours--and we love it still!!!

All of the kids' presents at our house are from Santa except the Christmas Eve PJs and ornament. And Santa wraps every one of them... All 28 gifts and 24 stocking stuffers this year. Each child gets his or her own special paper. It usually has santas on it but this year the elves had their way and got DS wrapping paper with elves and reindeer instead (DD has santas). Also the santa presents don't have bows or ribbon, but this year he might add them if he finds the bag of pretty bows I left in the garage.

I also LOVE to help Santa wrap! :teeth:

Santa wraps presents here and even in the same paper. She's only 4 and doesn't know the difference yet. I just randomly label things because I always go a little overboard. If I have a lot of little things, I put them in a gift bag, whether it's from us or Santa.

I really don't remember getting things from Santa, but I'm sure I did. I don't remember a lot of stuff from when I was really young for some reason. My mom did say I freaked out when a family friend came over one time dressed as Santa. I do remember him coming over, but don't remember being scared.

I also had a fear of the mall Santa's for a while, until I saw a few that were "nice" looking Santa's.

I really like to wrap presents, so it's not a big deal to me. But I can definitely understand those who don't like to wrap, so I can see why that would not be fun!

Santa does not wrap. He also does not bring all the presents (some are from Santa but most are from Mommy & Daddy), put up the tree or any other jobs. Santa is very busy & does not have time to wrap presents. That is why we have stockings!!

Yes Santa does wrap EVERYTHING and from what I have heard he doesn't have a single thing wrapped yet :scared1:
Santa has the same problem at my house. He's got alot of work before Monday. :rotfl:

When I was a kid, Santa wrapped with the same wrapping paper as my Mom. Amazing coincidence, isn't it?

Growing up Santa brought 1 big unwrapped gift. The others were all from mom and dad.Stockings were cheap and nothing was wrapped. My DH had eveything wrapped and was left by Santa-nothing from mom and dad.I asked him once if he thought his parents hated him because they never gave him a gift ever.Thank heavens he hadn't thought of that. But I would have.

We have combined traditions.Santa brings 5 gifts wrapped (doesn't all have to be expensive) and the stockings are all wrapped as well.Everything else we give them.We unwrapp one at a time as well.I think it is important to be able to tell the person giving you a gift thank you.You really can't tell Santa right then, and so they move on to their presents and forget to say it

Besides, when you give them presents they see them under the tree and it makes them excited. It is what makes it fun-to see their glow with excitement.

Another thing we do is make everyone presents equal. The same amount of presents and as close to the same money as possible.Even if it means I have to go to the dollar store. My parents made sure the money was the same and I always thought they loved one of us more because of how many presents another one got.

Happy wrapping or not-depending on who you are.

Santa wraps all the gifts here too, unless they are too big to be wrapped. This year, Santa will have special paper for each girl (princesses for one, tinkerbell for the other).

A funny story about Santa having the same paper as mom & dad - when I was a kid, my little sister asked my mom why Santa wrapped in the same paper that she used. My mom's snappy (and quite clever) response was that mom left out the paper for Santa to use, and all Santa did was wiggle his nose when he got there, and instantaneously the presents were wrapped in mom's paper of choice.

I always purchased special Santa wrapping paper and Santa gift tags. I'd bring the gift tags to work and have someone write them out for me so it never was my writing or my husband's. Now our son is 21 and how we miss those days. Enjoy them !

Not usually, that's how we tell what's from Santa and what isn't. Our tree has always been in our living room which is closed off by doors, though, so the kids can't see until we all go in. This year, our tree is in our common room area which can't be hidden, so I've asked Santa to wrap thing in special paper this year. He's also been advised that he can hide some of the smaller gifts in the tree branches.

BTW, we open gifts one at a time, taking turns, no tearing through. Everyone watches the "opener" and we take the time to enjoy the things we receive. We've always done it that way, so my girls can't identify with the frenzy they see in TV shows. DH also keeps a trash bag handy and as soon as they are done admiring the gift, the wrapping goes in the bag.

That's funny you mention it, my MIL insists we open gifts one at a time neatly opening each gift and folding wrapping paper. At my parents, it's a frenzy of gift opening, tearing the paper open scrunching it into a ball and throwing it into a trash bag eventually. Not sure which one I like better, but with little ones it's hard to have them sit still and just look at unopened gifts while admiring grandpa's new slippers :bitelip:

Santa doesn't wrap presents here at our house - that's how we tell them apart from Mom/Dad presents. Santa didn't wrap presents when I was growing up, either. Each kid has their own couch/chair where Santa sets out all their stuff and lays their stocking across (down from off the wall/mantle).

I've heard people say they wrap the door leading into their living room/whatever with paper before so the kids have to bust through it... I'd like to try that this year, but not quite sure how to go about it. I guess just tape the paper up around the door frame ... ?

He never wrapped anything when I was little and he still doesn't for my children. It must just take too much of his valuable time.

We open gifts one at a time at our house and my mom and dad's as well. My folks have a Santa hat that the present opener gets to wear. They then go pick out the next gift on the tree and hand it out to the recipient, along with passing on the hat. This works great for 5 little kids who were fighting over who got to play "santa" handing out the gifts!

:welcome: to the dis!

All of the presents are wrapped except the stocking stuffers. This year I am using special wrapping paper for santa's gifts. My dd has never really paid attention to that before but I just wanted to play it safe this year. We also take turns opening our gifts so we can "oooh" and Ahhh" before unwrapping the next item.

Like one of the earlier posters said, "I wish Santa did the wrapping for me". We(meaning I) wrap the gifts from Santa here, and for that matter all of the presents that we give. DH struggles to wrap what he gets me. When we were first married I collected Precious Moments and I used to get alot of them at Christmas as we lived near a gift shopped that did free wrapping.

Santa wraps all his gifts in Santa paper.

Santa always wrapped gifts at my house when I was little but did not wrap them at my husband's house.

He wraps here! I would hate to come down to the tree and see everything just sitting there. Unwrapping the gifts is half the fun on Christmas morning and makes it last a little longer!

DH and I have 5 kids....now all grown, all married. We have 6 DGDs and ALL presents from everyone, including Santa, are creatively wrapped. We make a big deal out of wrapping things to disguise them. For instance....last year I got a new bracelet - the jewelry box was wrapped, then put into a bit bigger box also wrapped - and continued for 6 boxes until I had this BIG box from my DD! The kids presents are all wrapped and then are hidden around the house (or even in the garage). The kids open one gift (that is placed under the tree) - inside is a clue where to look for a gift. When they find it, there is another clue, etc. Each person takes a turn opening gifts (as I have found that many others here on the DIS do as well). It takes us a few hours and we all get to appreciate our gifts as well as getting to watch others open what we picked for them.
PS...I adore the idea of the Santa hat for the gift opener! We're adding that to our traditions this year! What a fun idea!

When I was little nothing from Santa was wrapped. For my husband sometimes it was sometimes it wasn't. We do about 1/2. This year I am trying to set a 10 gift each wrapped limit.

We take turns too so that its not just a frenzy!

Merry Christmas!
