Does persistence get you an ADR?

I just booked FW cabin and cannot get into Hoop Dee Doo OR Mickey's Backyard BBQ! I used DU to book the trip.

I really want to stay at the resort on our first night (11/29) and either one of those dinners would get us right into the spirit of things.

Should I bother to call Disney directly myself, every day or so, trying?

Its a matter of making the call when there is an opening. No one is going to take better care of you and your family: call and keep calling, if DU gets it before you, great, but why leave up to someone else's whim?

As a back up book something at Trails End buffet. It will least give you peace of mind that you won't have to leave the resort to dine.

Absolutely keep calling every day! I was finally able to snag an ADR for Le Cellier after trying for a month and a half. Persistance definitely pays off. Good Luck!

Yes it does.After a month of calling everyday I got an ADR for Ohana's yesterday .They actually went from 0 openings next week to an opening almost every day.Note this was when I called and I guess I finally just called at right time.

I couldn't get Hoop-dee-doo for this coming Nov. All they could give me was a bad table- 3rd tier seats. They could get me 1st tier for the 9:00 pm show. Too late for my little ones. After I pressed the operator for more information she told me that if you are using the DDP you can not book 1st tier seating for the two earlier shows. Because of this the 2nd tier seats book up fast.
When I asked about paying out of pocket for 1st tier seats- she had no problem getting me a front row table.
If you are interested in seeing Hoop-dee-doo- ask for reservations without the DDP and see what happens!!
It's frustrating to say the least.

I would definitely keep trying. We actually canceled some of our ADRs during our trip last week at popular restaurants and then made some new ones for different pretty popular restaurants (we were amused that our pre-TR dining list probably looks completely different from our real one!), so there can always be openings down to the last minute. Good luck, I hope you get what you're looking for asap.

Yes! Persistence pays off. I had made Hoop De doo reservations gosh 3 months ago or so but then decided we wanted the 5pm show. I called almost every other day that entire time, and then Saturday, just like that there was a 5pm show available. And I had two dates from my trip available to choose from! So keep trying!

Four weeks ago, I couldn't get a single ADR that I wanted. Friday I got ADR's for:

Boma
LeCellier
50's Prime Time &
O'Hana

AND, it took me less than 10 minutes on the phone! It was a good day!

I would definitely keep calling, especially as those 2 require credit card guarantees. People are more likely to actually call and cancel instead of just being no-shows.

Call 2 U drop I had the number in my cell and yes I STALKED that dinnig line every day 4 and 5 times a day and yes I finally got everthing I needed,when I finally got everything I kept pickin up the phone to call thats how much I called,so just continue to call and if you are looking at those places that require a credit card hold call 24 hours to 48 hours before the date that you want this will be when they will cancel and most cancel so that there card is not charged,I know PSB is 48 hours and CRT is 24 hours,good luck and keep your eyes open on the cancel and trade threads they are great!

One option also is if you are able to split your party up into two groups do it. We couldn't get a table for four last Christmas (4 adults) and I was calling everyday. My daughter suggested that we split into two tables for two and we got it no problem and in fact we were seated next to each other.

I have seen the show over a dozen times and the last two were up on the tier three seats and I thought the view was great. There were parts going on out in the audience that I missed being down on the floor.
