So we're finalising the packing and have found our old Pal Mickey - is it worth taking him? Does he still work? I can't even remember what he actually did! (8 years ago!)

:confused3

I was going to ask the exact same question, when we bought him we were told he could be loaded with updated soft ware each time you went back, I was also told he would work everywhere, however Disneyland Paris was no good.
I think he told you interesting info as you walked round the park including parade times and might have even given you rude wait times!

it's supposed to still be working
but with all of the rework around MyMagic+ I would be very surprised if it worked everywhere

Pal Mickey used to give guests informations on the rides, park anecdotes, quizzes, and other fun things (like warning you if you came close to a wet ride ... as per Asimov's 3rd law of robotics : robot self preservation)

I didn't bring my pal Mickey because I read they didn't update the software so he doesn't know about any of the new rides etc. I haven't seen anyone with one while I've been here.

Thanks guys, he's in the case but he'll probably stay in the room!

If you are taking him anyway will you update this thread as to whether he still works or not.
Greatly appreciated!

He will 'work' but they stopped updating his info years ago so he'll only work with things he knows about.

Though it could be worse. After a 'bump on the head' my Pal Mickey will only tell me how big he would have to be to play golf with SSE. :)

Ha ha! Not sure what state ours is in now as when we got here we noticed one of our TSA locks was showing red - we checked the case and yup they'd been in it, clothes and stuff were everywhere. We wondered why they would have gone through it and noticed Pal Mickey was in this case, and his velcro jacket is a little ruffled - maybe the huge battery pack in him set the scanners off lol!
