Does Ohana's do standby?

Just had a couple people post in another thread of mine that Ohana's rarely does standby. Is this true? We can't get ressies earlier than 9:30 for Friday, November the 2nd, so we were just going to go there at 5 PM and get on the standby list.

I had read quite a few other posts about people waiting for standby at Ohana's, and that is was never that bad. We don't mind waiting at all, just want to make sure we can ;)

Thanks!

You can always try. I know of some neighbors that did this a year ago October. They went with no ADR's at all! I could barely breathe when she told me that...lol. But they did get in. No idea how long they waited. They hung in the Tambu Lounge enjoying cocktails. If they say no you can always try Kona too. Good Luck.

It's not impossible to get into 'Ohana as a walk-up, but it's very difficult.

'Ohana (apostrophe first, no S on the end) doesn't have an OFFICIAL no walk-up policy, but they rarely take walk-ups because of the restaurants popularity.

When I checked into the podium for my last meal at 'Ohana, I heard the CMs telling some other folks that walk-ups would have a wait of up to 2 hours. I believed it later, because getting seated for my ADR took 90 minutes.

Another technique you could try is to call Disney Dining the day before you want to go to 'Ohana, and again the morning of, to see if you can get a last-minute ressie. Don't tell them you have a ressie you want to change, just say you're looking for one and see what happens. It's a long shot, but stranger things have happened.

Last Feb. while we were waiting to get seated for our ADR, a group went up to the podium and asked if anything was available...there was, I am not sure how long they had to wait, but they did get the walk up seating.

It can be hard at 'Ohana to get walk up's, since it is such a popular place. But, give it a try, you never know.

The night we ate their in May we had a first seating ADR, and they were turning away all walk ups.

They were turning away walkups when we walked by last Sunday.

However, I've seen people get lucky under strange circumstances - I saw a walkup seated at Le Cellier a year ago. Depends on how lucky you are feeling.

We took a 9pm ADR in June and was able to get in earlier. We only had a 5 minute wait too. We wound up getting in around 7pm. I'd suggest taking the ADR and seeing if you can get in early. Going with nothing is more of a hit or miss.

I say, skip 'Ohaha and just go to Tambu Lounge! We went there the last night of our trip earlier this month and discovered their lettuce wraps - they're to die for! Bibb lettuce, great grilled chicken, shredded carrots and cucumbers, some kind of yummy Asian slaw plus peanut sauce. Plus, it's a pretty healthy meal, and only about $8! (One plate is enough to share for two people for an appetizer or can feed one [hungry] person as a meal.)

'Ohana and Kona were packed during our whole trip [they didn't seem be accepting walk-ups at all], so I wish I had known about Tambu earlier in our trip!!

Well, we just decided to go ahead and make ressies at Raglan Road (a favorite of ours), we might still see if we can walk up to 'Ohana and if not, then just go to Raglan Road. If anything we can walk around the Polynesian for a bit!

Thank you all for your advice, it helped!

Last Thursday night we did a walk up for a party of 6. It was our last night and we wanted to try. it was PACKED, wall to wall people. We had to wait about an hour and a half, but we got in. I shopped and drank some glow tinis so the wait wasn't that bad. Im glad we did wait. Had a great seat, wathced the MNSSHP fireworks, and left stuffed. No complaints.
