Does my father need a GAC?

His obvious disability is his back and knee problem. He walks with a cane. There are other issues, but not obvious ones. I've already rented an ECV, but wasn't sure if we'd need to get him a GAC. His dilemma is standing in long lines. He is able to walk, but standing for long periods may become an issue. Any suggestions?

He will be able to take the ECV into most lines without needing a GAC. I would suggest that he use the ECV in lines because some of the lines have a long walk from the entrance to the queue to the actual entrance to the boarding or show area (one that is a long way is It's Tough to Be a Bug).
If he chooses to park the ECV and walk in line, I'd suggest asking the CM at the entrance how long the walk is and how long the wait will be.

If he is using an ECV, the CM will direct him to the correct place for boarding without needing a GAC. If you haven't already read it, you might find the GAC information in the disABILITIES FAQs thread helpful.

Almost every line an ECV can be used all the way up to the boarding area. For a few lines you may be directed to an alternate entrance, but again the ECV can get you very close to the ride itself.
