Does. Jambo House have standard 1 bedrooms?

We just had a waitlist go through for a week at a one bedroom standard at Jambo House . I thought though that Jambo house only offered value sized rooms. I'm sure my Rez is correct but just thought standard rooms were only offered at kidani.

Jambo has rooms in all 4 categories: Value, Standard, Savanna and Concierge. Standard view will overlook the resort pool.

Kidani only has Standard and Savanna.

Yes they do indeed! They have value, standard and savanna view. The standard view at Jambo are great because they all over look the pool. This is a great way to conserve points and not have to look at a parking lot. Value rooms are great too, but it's the luck of the draw with regard to views. You can wind up with anything. But with standard view at Jambo, you are looking at the pool!

Here's a map of the Jambo House rooms. The Values are along the Giraffe & Ostrich Trails. Most of the Standard Views are those along the Zebra Trail that face the Uzima Pool. There were some Savanna Views that were reclassifed as Standard View. Not exactly sure where (or how many) those are.

The units in Jambo House are converted hotel rooms. The Values are former Standard Hotel Rooms and the others are former Deluxe Hotel Rooms. All of the 2-bedroom units in JH are lockoffs.

That room is classified as Savanna View. Upgrades like that happen from time to time. Not often but they do happen.

Of course, you may also want to double check your point balance and make sure they didn't charge you for savanna view. There have been reports of members being asked at check-in if they would prefer a Savanna View. They thought they were being offered a free upgrade, only to later find that they had been charged the additional points.

That room was reclassified as a standard view. I was told at check in, it was not an upgrade I was not charged any more points.

Several Savanna View rooms have been reclassified as Standard View. They are rooms with a very limited or obstructed view of the savanna. Typical examples are rooms on the inner corners of the spokes and rooms next to emergency exits where the exit stairs jut out past the adjacent room's balcony, blocking the view.

The downside to this reclassification is that the point costs for Savanna View 1BRs went up for every season to compensate.

I've been trying to track the reports. I've noted the following reclassified rooms reported so far (and the DIS'ers who have provided the info):

5203: studio, Lobby area, Sunset side (hansel1)
5528: studio, Uzima, in a corner next to last spur (b-1)
5238: dedicated studio by a stairwell, Sunset (Anal Annie)
5257: Studio, Sunset, near inside corner inside first spur, people pen view (NHGoofy)
5544: 1BR, Uzima, in a corner on inside of last spur (TwinsFan)
5545: Studio, Uzima, near a corner on outside of last spur (KAT4DISNEY)
5549: 1BR, Far side of last spur off Zebra Trail, near fence between Arusha and Uzima (mousefan1972)
