We're flying in tomorrow and the accuweather site shows a ReelFeel temp of 110...that just sounds unbearable!!! I must have been crazy planning a trip for this time of year. Maybe it's a typo LOL.

I'm moving your post to Theme park strategies, I'm sure you'll be given tips how to beat the heat.

We went in June 2000, and that heat index was correct. I'm from WI and my biggest surprise was the 80 degree nites.

It really feels like that hot...Make sure you get into the AC as often as possible and find shade. We found that when people left the parks from the storms we stayed because a HUGE wind comes up, and the cloud cover takes some of the heat away...Also the humidity is a KILLER.

It does feel like that, and with the humidity you'll be dripping with sweat. It's awful, but even worse in July.

It is absolutely hot as heck, but be patient, drink a lot of water and take breaks. I personally love WDW in June/July. Maybe I'm crazy, but you might be too! Don't "sweat" it, just enjoy the time away from home and think about the people who live there and HAVE to put a suit and tie on in that heat!

It will be hot, but like everyone else said, drink lots of water, enjoy the indoor attractions (and there are LOTS) and take frequent breaks. Also take advantage of the early mornings and late evenings at the parks.

My favorite thing about summer trips to WDW? You don't have to bring many heavy clothes! When we've been there in July, I've been comfortable at midnight in a tank top and shorts. Not having to carry around jackets and sweatshirts all day? Priceless.

Y'all are hilarious... Just stay hydrated and have fun - it's not that bad - Unless maybe your from the Northern Territories in Canada...

It really does feel like 110 degrees. I find the first day is a real shock to the system and after that first day, you (kinda) get used to it.

Follow the previous posters' recommendations and don't try to do it all, you'll have a great time. If it wasn't for free food, we'd be going back in July like usual.

Yeah, it's that hot. I'm in north Georgia and got in my car today after work and the temp there read 100. That's 7-1/2 hours from Disney World. As my husband says, you can eat the air.

But - take water bottles that you can fill up at the fountains. Take a washcloth in a Ziploc bag that you can wet at any restrooms and wash yourself off. Take an extra pair of socks. My husband likes to take an extra T-shirt and change in the rest room halfway through the day. Take breaks in air conditioning.

You will survive the Florida heat. Once you are there, it's not so bad. It's Disney World!!!!

As we in the south like to say, "it's not the heat, it's the humidity". ;) And we will say this if it is 120 degrees in the shade.

Yes, it does feel that hot. We are from southeast Texas and are used to the heat and humidity. I can't imagine how people from the north feel. We just got back last week from our 2 week trip to WDW. My wife and I agreed. We will never go again during the summer. We got more done during our 1 week trips during the spring than we did during our recent 2 week trip. The heat takes the energy out of you and it is just not that enjoyable. It was hot and crowded. It's alot easier to take the large crowds if you don't have the heat to contend with as well. Oh, and we took long afternoon breaks and drank plenty of water. It doesn't really help that much. Just keeps you from passing out. I told my wife that if I ever suggest the summer again, just shoot me. ;)

Yep! It's that hot! Mind numbingly HOT. As you step out of your hotel in the morning, it's like stepping into a moist oven. Just when you think it can't possibly get any hotter, yup, it does! :furious:

It's doable. We always tour in summer, not pleasant as other times of year, but doable.

I live in South Louisiana so I'd rather sweat at Disney than sweat at home! Good news, sweat knows no sociopolitical boundaries, everyone else is sweaty and stinky just like you! :bitelip:

It feels like a big outdoor sauna!!

I remember on this past trip, at about 9:30 am we were in Toon Town, I overheard this guy on his cell phone saying, "Well, it's hotter than h___!" And I'm thinking, dude, it's only 9:30, just wait till the afternoon! I still wonder how he did! I'm from S FL, so I am used to it.

It is really like walking into a wall of heat. You can stand still and have sweat running down you. But it is do-able, and it makes the a/c attractions feel that much better! Stay in shade, drink lots of water.. etc. Oh, and embrace the rain - it helps!!

I guess I'll be the lone voice of dissent and say that I honestly don't really think it feels like 110 degrees . . .

It feels more like 120. :beach:

Seriously, I'm from Arkansas and we're no strangers to heat and humidity, but this is on a whole other plane.

I'm in Florida, about 3 hours south of WDW,and yes it feels like the "feels like" the weather folks give. LAst Monday we were at 86 actual and a feels like 101 at 9:30 a.m.

It really doesn't matter where your from, most people do find it uncomfortable, but just remember all the great tips you've learned here and you can make it.

I was there May 28 and 29, a sunday and monday. It wasn't even June yet and sunday's high was literally 96-97, with humidity the feel like temperature was definitely close to 110.The day started without a cloud in the sky which meant that the sun+ the oppressive heat+ the humidity+ no breeze made this the hottest day I've ever been at a Theme park.By 6pm clouds rolled in and cooled it off but by that time I was wiped out!! Monday was a lot better temperature wise and there was even some breeze. But some days can be ridiculous as to how hot it gets!!!

I am in Southeast TN and it has been around 94 all week with a heat index of 100. It feels like your skin is burning the instant you walk outside. It is horrendously hot! FL will be hotter and more humid. Drink lots of water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
