I've been checking the weather 10 day forecasts for Myrtle Beach for the last week. We'd like to go in June next year, so I'm just getting an idea. For like 20 days now, the forecast says thunderstorms! I haven't seen 1 sunny day listed. It can't possibly really be raining that much? Has anyone been recently or live there to tell me if this is normal?

Minnie824,

We were just there last week and they called for chance of thunderstorms every day and I don't think I ever rained a drop. We had wonderful weather, it was hot, 90-100, but when you are at the beach, it doesn't seem that hot. :sunny:

Generally the summer weather there is sunny/partly sunny and chance of storms in the evening. When it does storm, it usually doesn't last long. June is a great time to go. We have been the past 2 years in June. Check the rates for the month b/c the 1st couple of weeks are cheaper than the last 2 weeks.

I live in Myrtle Beach and our summers are very dry. We may get a late afternoon thunderstorm that will last 10 minutes, but then the sun comes back out. We did have some rain in late May and early June but nothing at all the last 2 weeks (we could use it too). Just sunny and hot. The beaches have been great as the ocean temp is warm.

Enjoy your vacation
