Does it matter much between first week of June and second week?

We are looking at either 6/4-6/11 or 6/11-/18. We've always gone as early in June as possible since our kids are out of school but a lot of other schools are still in session. However, DD14 wants to go on the band/choir trip to Memphis & New Orleans 6/4-6/9. I feel like we shouldn't tell her she can't go just because it would push our trip back by one week (and it's our 7th trip- not a once in a lifetime). DH is griping a little about how it's going to be more crowded if we go later in the month. I'm not sure how serious he is- he also likes to tell her she can go on her trip and we'll go to WDW without her and I know he doesn't mean that :p

Just curious whether his concern holds any water. I looked at June 2015 on easywdw and every weekday through June was an 8. If we go the later week, there's a greater chance of SIL's family joining us, which DH wants.

It will be more crowded, but not bad enough that I would make her give up her trip. DD was in a play in June last year and so we wound up at DLR in July during the 60th anniversary week instead of our usual June trip. Surprisingly, it was n not nearly as crowded as my imagination thought it would be and we had a great time! She will carry that band/choir trip memory for the rest of her life. I had a couple of those trips in High School and although it has been decades they are still some of my most fun high school memories!

The second week will be busier, but in your situation, that's when I would go. For my family, a trip like the one your daughter wants to go on would absolutely take precedence over lower crowds at a theme park.

I hope it will be fun for her...lots of time on a bus! But most of her friend group is going and she is all into doing stuff with her friends. DD17 has never asked to go on any of these trips- but she is much more of a homebody. DD14 is going to be really tired with just one day in between but I'm afraid if we push it back any farther we will run into Drivers Ed. She says she can handle it. She is more worried about not seeing her kitties very much in those weeks.

We are hoping to get in on the nonstop flights out of Omaha (SW has one on Saturdays only, if that continues into the summer). So we will have a full week with time on our arrival day and time on our departure day to go to parks. More time than we usually have had, that will help.

I agree with this post 100%:)

Like everyone else, I'd do the second week. It allows her to do her trip, and while sure,it'll be busier,it's not going to be that much busier.
