Does everyone need to bring the key to get into Stormalong Bay?

I was just wondering if everyone had to carry it along. I like to bring one for the family since it makes it easier, but I know some places make you bring it every time.

It is my understanding that everyone that wants to swim, over the age of 3, needs to have their room key. Otherwise someone could use their room key and bring in anyone they wanted to!! Even if they weren't staying at BC/YC. I don't think the policy has changed but I could be wrong.

When we were there last August it completely depended on the CM on duty. If you are with young kids they usually let you go with just the adults showing keys. Some CMs wanted to see all the adult keys, some only one. Some CMs did not even check keys at all.

so if I go to Stormalong Bay before DS13 wakes up
he goes down to meet me but forgets his key
he could be stuck w/out being able to get me! not able to get into Stormalong Bay or back into the room?
would a CM get me? or what would happen in this situation? just so i can prepare him

my kids are only 2 and 7 so we have to be with them. Thanks for the info.

Just tell DS 13 to always take his key. I don't know that the CM would be able to go and find you (leaving her post) for him.

No, nothing like that at all. He will be able to find you. When we were there last year during Memorial weekend, we all had to show our keys and then they gave us wristbands to wear. They don't block people from entering but if they saw him without a wristband or asked for the key and he didn't have it, he might have to go back to get it. Nothing to worry about. Have a great time.

We were never asked for our room key when we stayed at YC but I have heard of plenty who have been asked.

I just showed my key and pointed out which kids were with me. I think I was given a wristband once in our seven day stay.

When we stayed there, you could easily enter the Stormalong Bay area. You just had to show your resort id to get a towell.
