Does everyone "luv" the Dumbo ride???

We have been to Disney 5 times in the past 4 years. We have ridden Dumbo once. (That was right after rope drop on our last trip when we were determined to ride it at least once in our lifetimes, LOL)>

None of us, from me, to our 7 year old daughter, "get it" I guess. I mean, it's OK, nice design, good location in MK, but not worth the wait when it is pretty much a carnival type ride, that's replicated in adventureland and dino land.

We can take it or leave it, and if the line is over a 5 minute wait, it's a definite leave it.

We have never ridden it.

We tell the grandkids that they can do basically the same ride on Magic Carpets of Aladdin & Tricera Top Spin without having to wait in a long line, and so far, that has satisfied them. :)

When my kids were younger...they enjoyed these two rides too. :thumbsup2

We started our last trip with the intention of avoiding it, but the minute she saw it, my DD5 was drawn to it like a moth to a flame. She knows of Dumbo, and had seen the movie a couple of times, but it wasn't a major part of her lexicon and certainly not a favorite movie. But she desperately wanted to ride it.

So we rode it. And rode it again. And again. It was the first ride of our nine day trip, and the last ride, at sunset before watching Wishes.

The look on her face every time was magical. Priceless. It made my heart so happy to see her light up when she boarded the elephant.

So, in answer to your question, no, I personally don't care for Dumbo, but it made our trip so memorable and for that I'll always think of the ride fondly.

I could skip, but my 6 yr old LOVES it, and it is WORTH it to see the look on her face while she rides

I haven't been on the Dumbo ride since I was 8 (now 30) with many trips in between. This year we are taking my stepson who is 8 and I can't wait to go on it with him. After this time, I probably wont ride it again for a long time. I think there is something special about riding it at least once with a little one, but after that, I could take it or leave it.

I think it's a nostalgia thing for people. If the line is short and Becky wants to do it, I'll wait...but you won't catch me standing there for 45 minutes waiting to do a ride that has similar incarnations at my local fair!

Stacey says Dumbo is a must-do. Haven't you seen her on the ride saying "Let's fly high buddy"?:)

My kids think it's fun, but for me it is a nostalgia thing as most others have said. I feel like when we visit MK we HAVE to do Space Mnt., Pirate's, Tea Cups and Dumbo or it's not OK :)

It's all about the kids and the enjoyment they receive. We enjoy the ride through our daughter's enjoyment and that's it.

We only rode it when we were there in 2007 for the Pirate & Princess parties (we went twice) and most rides were walk-ons. It was great, loved that party just for the ease of getting on rides! Anyway, I can take it or leave it, but I know I won't stand in line in the Florida summer more than a few minutes for it. That being said, our upcoming trip is all about DD7, so if she insists (which I think is doubtful) then we'll ride it.

we try to hit it at least once. we'd ride it more if it weren't for the line.

on our last trip, DD and i rode it near midnight at MNSSHP. it was a great way to cap off the evening.

we are definitely riding it on our trip in nine days. :yay: we just don't want to run the chance of it being gone already on our next trip. there's just something about riding it in the middle of fantasyland.

My little sister enjoys this ride, but if we dont ride it, she is fine with that. This ride is not a must do, more like a bonus if we get to do it.

:thumbsup2 Loved that party too. We went to it in Aug. of 07 and YES I am pretty sure we rode it that night too. I like it at night better too. :goodvibes

I love seeing it because it's iconic, but no it's not a must do thing.

I honestly don't remember the last time I did ride it! It must've been when I was much younger. I just feel like I can do so much more during the time I'd have spent waiting. I'm sure now that my twin nephews are getting a bit older (they're 2 in July), I'll be spending a lot more time with that loveable elephant!

I hadn't been on it in years. We are not rope drop people and would not wait in a long line for it. Last week, however, it was closed during an afternoon rain shower. I was in the right place at the right time and walked right on as they were reopening it. My son loved it and I'm so glad I got to take him. It will probably be gone when we go back.

I love the view of Fantasyland from up high. I also loved seeing behind the construction walls even though there wasn't much to see!

We went on it when DD was small, but never before or after. Even as a small child, DD wasn't that into Fantasyland, other than Goofy's Barnstormer. She's a natural born coaster girl!! Just like her Momma ;).

Same here. My 3.5 yo loves Dumbo. It was her favorite ride and it was all she talked about when we got back.

I could take it or leave it, but since she loves it, we did it. Twice, in fact.
