Does everyone get a hotel key to show for EE?

Is it like Universal where everyone needs a key to get into the express lane? Or can Dad just keep track of one key for the whole family?

You use your park pass (which may or may not be your room key) to enter the park. If Dad wants to carry ALL of them............

1) One room key is enough per family.
2) Put your nomal ticket into the reader amd flash your key.
3) If your ticket is on the room key, even easier.

Do they actually check the room keys now? A few years back we did EE at EPCOT. I made sure everyone had their key in hand & was amazed that they didn't ask for it from any of us.

I had been surprised when we got in the parking lot because not everyone had a "WDW resort guest" parking pass. I did get a little annoyed that they never checked.

Anyway, how are they with this now?

We were checked off and on during our October trip. If you go to TTC to take the monorail, you can only go through if you have a room key. The guards were checking at AK when you get your bags checked.

Over Presidents' week, some parks checked sometimes and sometimes not. They always let our family of six in even when only one of us showed the room card.

At one park, they asked a mom in a family of four to see their room card. She checked her pocket and told the CM that she didn't bring it. They just let her in. I would have asked her how she planned on getting back into her room?

At another park on the same trip, the CM wouldn't listen to any stories. Anyone without a room card was asked to move away to the side until the regular opening time.

Just got back last night and every time we did EE they ask to see our room key. Sometimes one was enough other time both of us had to show our keys. They had an area for non-resort guest to wait and I saw some people try but none got in.

I'm glad they're checking. Some people stay on-site specifically to take advantage of EE. They should enforce the rule. I think WDW needs as many incentives as they can get to get people on-site & they should make sure they are strict about off-site guests not getting early entry.

I don't want to sound mean, I just think they should keep it at resort guests & really enforce it.

Okay - I've had my say.

One more question..we are purchasing 10 day world passes so our resort key will not be our ticket. How many room keys do you get per room? I thought it was only 2 (for the adults). Do the children need to show a rom key as well? Had a tough enough time keeping track of our 6 park passes and 2 room keys last year...will we need to have 6 room keys this year to show at EMH as well? Since we've never been at the parks for EMH any help is appreciated :).

The room key doubles as a resort id. Thus every person registered for the room gets one.

We have four kids and usually only the two of us (the adults) carry ours. We do not carry the kids room cards with us. It has never been an issue wtih anyone. We have always gained entry on ee mornings with the two adults showing our cards. I know exactly what you mean about keeping track of things and anything we don't have to carry is a plus.
