Yes - you have to be staying at an on-site resort and I believe they won't do it if you're within 48 hours of your check-out date (that goes for anywhere).

It could be... I'm not 100% sure either. I thought I remember them telling me purchases would arrive at my resort within 1-2 days after they send them over. They almost always arrived the next day, but there were a few times where it took 48 hours. I think this is why I had it in my head you have to be more than 48 hours away from check-out.

During our trip last month, CMs would ask if we were checking out the next day. As long as we weren't, they were happy to package up most items to go to the resort. Most told us they would be available at the gift shop typically after 1:00. As for food, I'm not sure what the exact policy is, but we couldn't ship chocolate (of course), but one CM did let us ship the dry Mickey mac & cheese.
You can ship food as of a few months ago. You'll be discouraged from sending chocolate, specialty apples, cotton candy, and other common sense perishables though.
