Does Disney tap water taste good ??

I live in the Atlanta area and to me our water is kinda icky compared to the water at my Dad's house in south Georgia. But, the water in Florida is just plain putrid. I refuse to even brush my teeth with it. Buy water! Mickey

The water in years past has been totally horrible. However, we just returned on Friday from a week long trip, tried tap water in several places, and it was all drinkable. BIG surprise for me!
I still carried a bottle of water with me each day. But when dining, I drank a glass of tap water several times with no problems.

Ewww!!:( Another vote here for bottled water. There is just too much sulphur in the water for us and in some cases you smell like sulphur after you've had your shower.;)

We always buy the big bottles of water and just fill up our smaller ones for the parks.:)

on our last trip my daughter and i used the brita bottles with great success. we found the water and ice in the restaurants to be just as putrid as the water from the fountains and taps, with the exception of the coral reef. we always ordered beverages without ice, and preferably commercially bottled. the brita helped a great deal in keeping us hydrated at a low cost, they were convenient for us, but i can see where they may be cumbersome for small child. we purchased a water bottle strap for each of us and just carried them slung over our shoulders. definite thumbs up from us for the brita water bottles.

i'm wishing ...we were going soon.
(apologies to snow white for borrowing a line)

... on Philly-type water (which tastes like nasty old pipes, but not sulphur). Thanks for the idea, all! Bought 2 & got a great deal at Bed Bath & Beyond (6.99 ea. plus $5 off coupon).

We find that FL water has sulpher in it and that makes us even thirstier. We always buy bottled water.

The water is perfectly fine. We have a 24-oz insulated sport bottle that we bring from home. We either freeze it part full overnite then top it off in the morning (if we have a freezer) or we just stuff it with ice in the AM and refill it throughout the day. We find bottled water to be a waste when you can get all you want for free. And the restaurants don't mind giving you a cup of ice to refill your bottle. We drink tap water everywhere we go and have never encountered a problem.

See - this thread just goes to show that it is all a matter of taste - the kind in your mouth, of course! ;)

I have never noticed a smell or funny taste in the water in all my years of visits. I tend to drink a lot of water and drink it in the restaurants and also when we stay at OKW with no noticable bad flavor or smell ( to me anyway.) I will say I almost never drink out of drinking fountains. Not for any particular reason, I just don't care much for them.

I would rather drink cat urine..... (well mabye not)
but it is really bad, smells like rotten eggs

I have yet to find the Brita bottles at Walmart. I have only been able to find them at Target and K-mart (hey, if you have a K-mart being shut down near you, you might find a deal LOL!) They are located usually in the kitchen section where the regular brita pitchers are found or perhaps back in plumbing where the faucet adapters are found. I've found the filter repalcements in both places.

I grew up in Florida and never really noticed the water. Still visit my folks in the panhandle and don't notice it there. In most of the off-site resorts I haven't noticed it as badly as I have on WDW property. So maybe something about whoever processes Disney's water? It does have a very strong sulpher smell and taste that is noticeable if you don't have the same in your own hometown water.

We live in Alabama and although our water isn't bad, I still don't like it. We use a bottled water service. I'm sure while we are at WDW we are going to really miss our 5 gallon jugs of water!! I toyed with the idea of taking a bottle down and getting a table top dispenser, but it won't do us any good while we are in the parks LOL!! We pulled out our Brita bottles the other day and found a replacement pack of filters. We will most likely use those again.

As far as the "immodium problem" I have never had a need for those pills while there, but my dh usually does by the 24-hour mark, so we just always pack them when we go. I always suggest taking them when you travel because you just never know!
