Does Disney Still Offer the Character Breakfast Buses?

Hi!
I was wondering if the breakfast buses are still running and if so do they offer service to the resort character breakfasts or just the ones at the theme parks? We need to get from Port Orleans Riverside to Cape May at the Beach Club so I was trying to figure out our options.

I didn't know they had character buses.

When we were there in March, the front desk told us they would pick us up and take us each morning. Busses started running at 7am and they would always drop us off at the resort we had reservations at. Just let them know when you get on the bus that you have a breakfast and where and it should be no problem. We also would use the phone at the bus stop each morning and call the bus line to make sure they were sending busses.

I just called WDW about this and didn't get quite the answer I wanted.

I was hoping to take a bus from Pop to the Contemporary for a 7am breakfast reservation. However, the cast member I just spoke to said that the buses only go to the parks for character breakfasts. To get to a resort, I would have to take a monorail. However, that doesn't start running until 8am.

That just doesn't seem right, so I think I might try to call back later and see what they say. If anyone knows anything more helpful, I would appreciate it!

Actually the resort monorail starts running earlier than 8:00AM. Some times the bus driver will drop you at the Contemporary after dropping people at MK. If they won't you can just walk over or take the resort monorail

Thank you for the information! I hadn't considered walking from the transportation center to Contemporary. I can't remember the distance? I might try to look at that on Google maps. That will be a funny parade if we clomp over there at 6:30am w/ 11 people in tow...

I called back and asked again and they said the monorail would not be an option. I don't know if they're planning to change the start time this winter or what?

I'm so worried about it b/c it is my brother's wedding day. He's usually manages these type of logistics for the group.

No, you'd walk from MK to the Contemporary. Take the bus to MK and walk to the Contemporary. It's a 5-10 minute walk at the most.

Buses start running at 6:30 every morning.

Many times your driver will be able to drop you off at the contemporary, just ask.

At that time in the morning, everyone is going to breakfast. Should not be an issue and if it is, just go to MK and walk back to the CR. It's about an 8 minute walk.

I must add to this post that you should never, ever, under any conditions rely on Cast Members for accurate transportation information (unless and ONLY if they drive the buses). I don't know why, but except for the purple pants gang (bus drivers), the other Cast Members will almost always give you bad information. This is something WDW should have corrected a long time ago.

Is it safe to assume the buses do go to the resorts? Just wondering since I'm not able to walk like the posts about the Contemporary.

It would only happen during the early mornings the way cranbiz described it.

For example if you were going from POFQ to the Contemporary for dinner, you would take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then use the walkway or Resort Monorail to the Contemporary. During that time the buses won't take you directly to the other resorts.
