Hi does anyone if Disney has a Child Care Sitter for the Elderly who can stay in my resort room for a few hours while we go to the park in the evening hours? If so
1. do you know how much is it?
2. How long does the person stay?
3. Can you Book for the someday or cancel on the someday?

Hello, I will be going to Disney World for 2 weeks with family. And my dad gets weak in the evening hours which may require him to take a nap for a few hours. Normally it's not a problem but for 4 Days we will have Family who has never been to Disney, and I want to show them around while having my dad relaxing at the resort if needed.

Thanks

a wheelchair and let your dad be with you. It sounds like you have enough people to take turns pushing it, too. He can nap in the wheelchair when he wants and if he's ok with it and capable of being alone in the wheelchair then you can still do thrill rides and such. Usually, there's someone in your party who doesn't want to do a thrill rides anyway and they usually can watch for you, etc.

Most outside caretaker services do require a 4 hour minimum. The usual charge is $20 an hour and can be higher if you have special needs involved like incontinence. Also, a travel fee may be involved. If you want your dad to eat at this time, most companions expect a paid meal, as well. And no matter what, your dad would be with a stranger. If he's not use to other caretakers this can be traumatic. I don't know of anyplace that will do this at the last minute or who would allow you to cancel at the last minute, either. If you go this route you better dot your i's and cross your t's about last minute situations.

There's another alternative and that's to let him use a scooter. The cost is around $48 at Disney parks which is still cheaper than a caretaker. You can practice with one at a Wal-Mart and such to see if he can do good with one. There are cheaper outside scooter rentals, too. You pay the same even if the scooter is used for a few hours; so, I would get it for the whole day and he'll love you for it.
