Does Disney ever let you pick a different UY for an add-on?

I don't know why anyone WOULD want to have different use years in my opinion, I would think it would be much more aggravation keeping track of points and expirations and banking deadlines, so why bother giving yourself more of a headache. My opinion is to just keep them the same. And if you don't keep good records and an online or computer calendar, you may end up losing points.

I know I have just one deadline every year when I need to bank my points by.

I can see it would get pretty crazy if you had multiple contracts with different UY, ( example: 50 points to bank by April 1st, 75 points to bank by July 1, 25 points to bank by Sept 1)

I think it works out if someone buys with the intent of using the new contract for a different purpose and buys enough points to make it happen the way they want, completely independent of the other one.

For example, I have a June UY but want to buy more BWV points so DH and I can do F & W every fall in the near future. I would consider buying a contract with a different UY for the sole purpose of doing this if I have trouble getting my UY and I am ready to get the points.

For retail purchases, I am not aware of any exceptions to the min buy in if buying a different UY. I seem to recall language in the POS from early on that suggested if one's UY was not available that they might allow it but haven't been able to find it since so I must have dreamt it. The min however has been as low as 50 points for a new buy in for some situations. Of course this is their rule so they could change it at any time if they wanted.

As for multiple transfers between different UY (or totally separate other contracts with a common owner) above the 1, it does happen but is handled on a case by case basis. Basically if you're in a situation where you really need to do something but can't such as points for a single night or when all points must be in one account like DCL or CC; they will generally allow it.

Did you see my previous post? I don't see how our October UY would work for HHI, which we intend to visit in the summer. If we get an Oct UY, we run the risk of losing points due to cancellation.
