Just wondering if it helps and how much time before I ride do I take it

I think it depends on you. It certainly didn't help dh. He felt the spin the entire time and was too sick to move for the next 4-5 hours. He said that lift-off for him was like spiraling up, and the console seemed to spin in front of him. I tried to feel the spinning and didn't feel it at all.

If you are prone to motion-sickness, I advise you to go with great caution.

BTW--he did find that Bonine helped with his overall experience. He still got a little queasy on Rockin' Roller Coaster, too, but not bad. I think that he handled everything else well, including the Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grill. Last time we went to dinner at the Garden Grill he had to leave less than halfway through the meal, so he is very prone to motion sickness from spinning.

Bonine REALLY helped my DH last year at WDW. He does not like spinning and simulator rides or Rock n Roller Coaster because he gets queesy on them. He was fine on Mission Space, Star Tours, etc... We rode MS several times in a row.

Edited to add: He took the Bonine the night before we left for WDW and took one every night we were there. He did not get drowsey at all from it.

Try it out at home first. My DD, DH, and myself took it at Universal in April and were so tired for 24 hours. It's not supposed to make a person sleepy, but it sure did us.

I also took it and was extremely tired.
I took it about 8 am and by 2 pm I was ready to fall down.

I would test it before I went. I did this test at Six Flags, it did help me a ton! I rode the swings and felt no sickness at all, but like I said I was very sleepy. But it was worth it to me.

good luck, I know how bad it can be!:wave2:

I use Bonine and our family has for years. I need it mostly for spinny rides and it seems to help, somewhat. It's not 100% great every time, but it does the trick.

Since it's good for 24 hours, I usually take it right before I go to bed so that if it makes me sleepy, it's ok. Also, I make sure I ride the rides I think will make me sick first thing, so if it starts to wear off in the afternoon/evening, that's ok.
