Does anything special happen in WDW on Valentine's Day?

We'll be there on V-day next year and I was wondering if anything special goes down at any of the parks? I know we were there for Earth Day 2 years ago and they gave out little buttons at Animal Kingdom, my kids thought that little gesture was so cool :)

If you consider buttons a "thing," you can ask at Guest Relations for a button that commemorates just about anything you may be celebrating.

A few years ago they had a special event where the princes were out with their princes

They almost always have some sort of "special" meet and greets. John Smith with Pocahontas, Jane with Tarzan-- nothing major and for too long, but there were definitely special characters in Animal Kingdom and Epcot this year.

You might witness some marriage proposals!:)

We were there this year on Valentine's Day. Yes, proposals. They were sweet. We also saw a lot of nicely dressed couples (like suits and dresses with heels). I'm guessing they were having a nice dinner.

There's usually a Valentines Day pin, if you collect. Our first trip happened to include it, so my kids (6&4) handed out Valentines to the characters we met. Of course they all made a big fuss ❤️❤️❤️

We are always at Disney for Valentine's Day because my birthday is the 13th... we've never seen anything too special... a cute pin is released and sometimes there are different meet and greets with the Princes/Princesses as others have mentioned!

It's always a fun day in the parks... guests and CMs typically embrace the day... you see lots of custom shirts, get Valentine's Day greetings from CMs. But, overall, nothing too extraordinary.

Blahhhh

Proposing on Valentine's day or Christmas day is so '94.

If I were a guy, I'd only propose at Christmas. Great way to save money and only have to give one gift! Plus, then the family or friend are all together and can make a little celebration out of it and talk details.
