Does anyone volunteer to be bumped?

Not for a voluntary bump with 8 non-stop flights between the city pair each day.

We always plan the first day as travel only, with the hopes of volunteering to get bumped. We have got a large voucher for future flights, meals, hotel, and first class on the first available flight. The best bump for us is getting bumped on the last flight of the day. This makes me happy!

Yep.. For the past 7 trips we have taken we have not paid a dime. We book flights that are nearly full or over a holiday then get to the airport early and as soon as the gate agent arrive we inquire and volunteer to be bumped. Best time to get a bump is During Daytona 500 race in Feb. Last Feb they bumped us to two different flights. I was put on another flight through Newark and my husband through Miami. I got to Newark and asked again about being bumped and sure enough I got another one. I called the hubby to tell him what happened and he only had to wait an hour and 20 minutes for me to arrive.

Our record for bumps was 4 in one day. We started flying at 7:00 a.m and we finished at 2:30 a.m. the next day! Of course our last flight which was out of Atlanta got delayed as we had to wait on the flight crew to arrive. It was such a long day but man it was a great pay off.

Where do you learn about they are looking to bump people? Sounds like a good deal to me. How can I find out, do I call, does it happen when you are already boarding, please any info
