Does anyone use xantham gum to thicken their sugar free syrup?

I do. My husband loves it. It changes the way the syrup looks, it will no longer be clear, it will be cloudy.

However, you can reheat the syrup after thickening and it won't break down. Gets rid of that "watery" nature of the sugar free syrups, too.

Making waffles for supper, I think. So, I'm going to thicken some syrup, heat it, add a few chopped pecans and enjoy :)

I must be the only one, then :teeth:

I've never tried it, but I think I will. (Since I live out in the sticks, I'll have to order some.)

I've only used the syrups in my coffee. I tried the SF pancake syrup and while it was fair, I think a thicker one would be better.

I use it to thiicken soups. Works great.
