That was me...oregano was on my needs list.

I ended up buying it at the grocery store but the generic kind. It was only $.99 for the same size bottle as the name brands which were $3.49 and $2.99. I assume it's the same thing and I only use it in sauces and stuff so I'm sure it'll do fine.

I'm interested. Why don't you start a thread on current Walgreen rebates?

Interesting thread! Thanks everyone for the shopping tips!

I tried GC but it is not going to work for me. My store (shop rite in NJ) is not updated until tuesday of the current week. So, for example, it's monday today and last week's list is still up. I generally shop on Thursdays, but can't wait until tuesday afternoon to plan. Wednesdays are very busy for me, and if something is happening tuesday I'd be out of luck.

Also, I sometimes order coupons on line saturday nights or sunday mornings, so I'll have to review the flyer myself.

I did find that couponmom.com has my list up sundays. That's much more helpful!!

Here is my shopping experience today: Mostly at Publix, I stocked up on school lunch items like Capri Sun..got those to $1 box after sale and coupon and pre packaged cookies and crackers and such. They also had other things B1G1F.

Publix
Total $93.79
-26.76 advertised specials
-21.35 coupons
Paid $45.68 = 51% savings...WOO HOO!!..... :cool1:

Winn Dixie
Total $79.74
-28.94 reward card savings
- 1.65 coupon
Paid $49.15 = 38% savings...Still good I think!

Sad to say, what I saved today at these stores I spent at Sams but Im really happy with my shopping today.

Are you using the GG list or did you do that yourself?

Either way, Good Job at Publix!

I didn't find the advertised stuff in my area to be much use this week.

"The List" often includes unpublished 72 hour sales so that may be why they ask your area to wait until Tuesday to go.
The Publix penny coupon was on the 4th page of section A - Publix had a half page ad. I have heard that they don't do the penny ad in Florida. This week it was for a jar of apple juice.
The list this week for Publix was only 2 pages - it has been being 3 pages long so it didn't seem as good to me either this week. Still, I spent about $62 and saved $55. I remember looking at a receipt for the week before I started GGing and it was for $100 and I "saved" $5. Woohoo!
I also wonder if it is possible that the P&G ad was just missing out of your paper. That happens from time to time. This is my 5th week with the list and I'm just now feeling like I have a good supply of coupons. They say it takes about 12 weeks for your stockpile to be full and to really start saving - then you can just buy mostly from the blue and green sections and less and less from the black. I hope it goes better for you next week.

3 pages! I don't think my lists are that long here! I only printed the items I selected and that came out to not even 1/2 a page. Perhaps it would have been 2 pages if I printed the whole thing but I don't think so.

Assuming your talking to me, nope, I went to their(P&G's) website and they don't have my local paper listed as one of the papers they are in. I did check with publix and WD and neither carry the paper the list is made from so I guess I'm out of luck. It'll start working out after a few weeks when I get more coupons on hand I think. But it doesn't look like I'll be able to get the P&G coupons at all.

I have always been a coupon user but I am trying the GG trial period. So far I like it. I would really like it if we could get double coupons...I'd settle for once a month coupons being doubled! I will probably go down to 1 store instead of 2.

What P&G coupons do you want? I dont always use them and I wouldnt mind sending them to you if your interested.

Well my Tuesday-promised list is up tonight. That is good; however, many of the coupons are P&G yet the Wash Post includes V and SS. What is the website of P&G - is that Proctor & Gamble? I need to find out what paper includes those.

I just signed up for this and bought the Sunday Washington Post today and mine only had the SS and the P&G ... not the V???

Makes me mad ... what is the deal? You got the V one?

Go to this website:http://www.brandsaver.com/index.shtml and you can type in your zipcode to find out which local papers have it. If you're like me, it will say "no results" and then you can search by state and it will tell you which newspapers in your state have them.

Wow! That's really sweet of you! I don't know what coupons{other than the ones that were on the GG list this week} there were(since I didn't get them) so I don't know what to ask for. I'd take whatever you're not planning to use. If you're interested in sending them PM me for my address.

Problem is that she is saying she did not get a P&G in the Washington Post and mine had a P&G but no V!

I have often found that I'm missing coupons when I buy the post. Maybe I should switch to another paper.

What paper does Grocery Game use to make your list? You should buy the one they use if possible. If not possible, buy the paper with the largest circulation in your area because it will have the best/most coupons.

I think you missed what I was saying.

The other poster got the Washington Post (As in the Washington DC paper ... a HUGE, widely distributed paper ... the largest in the area) I ALSO get the Washington Post.

Her Washington Post had V & SS but no P&G

My Washington Post had P&G & SS but no V

Odd isn't it???

WDWO

I also got the Washington Post yesterday-- ss and PG, but no V either! Hmph! :sad2:

This is my first week w/ GG-- can't wait to see if it works for us. Every penny counts, right?

Anyone on the list can email their list administrator with the questions regarding the specific coupons included in the paper. I think they are by area of the country too - so that may make a difference.

Missing inserts is exactly the reason that I simply pick the ones that I want & will use Saturday night. The bad thing this week is that they didn't get the P&G insert either. :( Unfortunantly people will swipe additional inserts. I knew of someone who planned it out to get extra copies. That friendship ended soon after.

If you want to get the list of coupons(again varies by area) the Wed before they come out, sign up for the email list on Taylortown. She will email it to you every week. She also handles coupons for a fee.
