Does anyone take a light jacket for cold A/C restaurants?

The threads on weather made me think of another question. In the summer, when I am wearing summer clothes (shorts & tee or tank), and I go into a restaurant I FREEZE in the COLD A/C. I absolutely must have a jacket or I can't even enjoy my meal. My kids and DH do not seem to share this problem. Does this happen to others? :confused3

I feel silly taking a jacket around with me in the parks on hot days but, if the restaurants are too cold, then I will have to do it. I can't remember if this happened on my prior trips.

Does anyone have this issue?

I only saw one person with a sweater in August, 2006 - it was a tween/teen girl who looked like she was from the middle east and she was with a large group of family. She was the only one in a sweater.
I do not recall seeing anyone wearing jackets or sweaters in restaurants in August '06 or September '07, but it could very well be that I just didn't notice. I don't usually pay that much attention. The girl in the heavy sweater just really was odd.

Yes, many of the restaurants crank the AC in the summer and after a while it gets pretty darn cold. I usually never get cold, but at CG & Il Mulino last year, I was chilly. My mom and I usually carry a little lightweight zip sweater or cardigan in our backpack for this matter.

I am always chilled in the restaurants. I have to carry a lightweight shirt or sweater with me. I just tie it around my waist. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but he learned not to say anything after I made him buy various sweatshirts for me ( one from the Rainforest Cafe and one from Contemp. Resort). I just don't enjoy my meal as much if I'm not comfortable.

YES i have something called my theme park sweater! lol my dh thinks its funny...i take it everytime, its just a light sweater that i can tie around my waist or stuff in our backpack...i am from florida and i get cold if it drops below 75 ....lol i put it on when i get on inside rides or i am in a rest. eating or when it rains (its forida it will rain) and i get wet and go inside somewhere..I have very low iron i always have so i freeze, if your like that take something for your arms..

DW does this. She carries a jacket everywhere we go to put on in places where the a/c is cranked up. Last time we went I think she found the places inside the France pavillion to be the coldest to her.

My husband will be in shorts and a T-shirt wile I am wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt. I have to socks on but he'll be in bare feet. I need to have a blanket on while sitting on the couch. He doesn't. So yes, I freeze in air conditioning too. I really don't like wearing tank tops at Disney World or anywhere else in the summertime (and we live in Georgia) because I know I will get cold in the A/C.

At Disney World, I am fine in most of the attractions and all of the shops. But, if I know we will be in a restaurant for a meal, I always take a long sleeve shirt in the bag (while my husband take a second shirt because he sweats through the first one). I was once in How Wants to be a Millionaire and if I didn't have that shirt with me, I would be been a popsicle.

It's not silly to carry a light jacket with you in the summer. YOU know what makes you comfortable, who cares what everyone thinks? At Disney World, you don't dress for style, you dress for comfort.

Sometimes I do, I take a zip up hoody sweatshirt with me.

My mother and I get cold very easily so typically we bring a light jacket to the parks just for the restaurants. One day we forgot our jackets and froze during dinner at San Angel Inn.

I do!

I carry a sweater for the restaurants and the buses! I usually go in October...during the day it's warm. but come the evening there is a nip in the air and getting on an empty cold bus just jolts all my senses.
I carry a backpack so it's easy to throw a sweater in there and if I don't want to carry the pack around I stick it in a locker until I need it.

Always! You can either wrap it around your waist, throw it in a backpack, or rent a locker and hoof back to get it before you sit down to eat. IMO there is nothing more uncomfortable than being cold during a meal!

I have a very thin zip-front jacket I bought at Target on clearance. It was in the athletic wear dept. and I can fold it small enough to go in a sandwich bag so it hardly takes up any room in my bag. DS and I both FREEZE in restaurants in August, so I always have mine and sometimes one for DS as well.

I am always cold at restaurants so I pack a sweatshirt. Even in the house with the CA on, I'm usually bundled up.
We are going to WDW in Sept and I know it will be hot and humid but I will still be bringing my hoodie tied around my waist.

I usually take a cardigan or something to tie around my waist and put on in the colder places... I hate the cold, in any form...haha

I have an issue w/the cold A/C, too. I am always cold in air conditioning and have to bring a lightweight sweater w/me to restaurants (whether in WDW or at home) as well!!!

I brought one with me also! I have A/C issues all the time in the summer. Here in IL I need a jacket to go into the theatre too! I HATE being cold....in fact, that is why I'm wondering why the heck I live here in IL! It's freezing here still! I CANNOT wait for Spring! Someone from FL send it this way PLEASE!!!!:goodvibes

I freeze everywhere at WDW! Restaurants, indoor rides, but the worst are the buses! After years of riding the buses, we know exactly where the "hot spots" are in each type of bus so we don't freeze. (Hint - the back seats are generally the best, especially if you can lean against hot stainless steel!)

My worst restaurant experience was in Chefs de France last November. We got seated right under an AC vent. I had jean capris on and a hoodie but I was still trying to wrap the tablecloth around my bare ankles and had my napkins covering my lap trying to get warm. My nose was running and my teeth chattering by the time I got out of there. Of course it was one of our DDP dinners so we had to shove down appetizers, entrees, dessert, etc. We were in there forever!!!

I take my hoodie everywhere with me, even in the summer.

I always throw a long sleeve tshirt in my bag, I find that most restaurants and some of the indoor shows are quite chilly, especially after being out in the heat for so long.

I definitely keep one in my backpack...it can get frigid in some restaurants to me....and when I'm cold I am miserable.

I was in a Totes store looking for a small umbrella and happened to see a Totes brand lightweight jacket that folds up into itself. You just pull a corner of the jacket into one of the pockets and keep pulling it all in, then zip the pocket closed, and you wind up with a very small packet. I stick it in a ziplock bag and have it ready to grab if I need it.
