Does anyone split stay VB and WDW on same trip

Does anyone do a split stay of X nights at WDW and Y nights at VB or in reverse. I am thinking of buying my major contract at BCV or VWL and then an add contract at VB - the only rub I see is that our maximum length vacations tend to be around 8-10 days so not sure if this would too much travelling or if it is no big deal.

Whilst on the subject has anyone bought at VB as home resort and then swap into WDW at 7 month window (assuming not too picky about what is available at 7 month window) and assuming not at Easter/Christmas

Finally, wondering why March is premier at VB...????

This summer will be the 3rd time we have combined a trip to WDW with a trip to Vero Beach.

The last 2 times we have stayed at OKW ( our "home" resort ) for 10 days then moved to VB for 4 more days. It has been wonderful, it makes it easier for me to leave WDW, knowing that the vacation isn't really over. And after running around the parks it is nice to relax. The family would like to spend more time at the beach and less time at the parks but I can't give up my Disney World time.

This summer we are staying at Vero first. I forgot to call at the 7 month window and that was the only thing I could get. I am curious how it is going to be doing it 'backward'

Except for this time, when I goofed, I have never had a hard time getting the reservations that I wanted.

March is busy at VB because of Spring Break I assume.

We did a combo vacation last year-week at WDW, week at VB. They compliment eachother nicely. VB is a good place to relax before or after a trip to Orlando.

We mostly do Vero by itself. We actually prefer VB better as a vacation than WDW-a lot of people think we are craxy.

We will always do a beach vacation or maybe WDW/beach vacation. Can't imagine going to Florida and not seeing the beach or gulf.

I think you will have a great time going to Vero first. You'll get to relax and have a lot of fun and prepare yourselves for the parks at WDW. Don't worry about it being backward.

We split the trip every May. We spend 2 days 1 night at WDW for the flower and Garden and then head to VB for 4 nights.

We split our January trip (usually 4 nights at BWV and 3 or 4 nights at VB). This year, we are also splitting our June trip (6 nights at BWV and 4 nights at VB). Last year we went to the Gulf coast for 4 nights after BWV. This year, we were able to book VB for cash using the 25% member discount so it ends up being about the same amount as we spent last year in St. Pete Beach.

We enjoy the quiet time at the beach after the more hectic WDW portion of these trips.

We usually split our trips. We're doing 5 or 6 days at Vero and then 5 or 6 days at WDW this summer. I haven't decided whether I like Vero first or second. It's nice to run around WDW and then be able to go to the beach and relax. This summer we'll try it the other way around and see how it goes. Combo vacations work out very nicely for us.

Now that we own DVC, we always split our trip. Four nights at VB, followed by eight at VWL is the norm at the current time.....

I am in the middle of making my day by day ressies for VB next March. I have tried to make cash ressies at VB in the past, and they were booked.

Remember, as more and more on-site DVC resorts are sold, VB and HH will be harder and harder to get at the 7 month window.

We split last summer.........4 days at VB......then 4 days at OKW.We tried that sequence first, to be closer to the airport(MCO) . It seemed like we had 2 vacations.

This will be the first time that we will stay at VWL and Vero. We haven't stayed at either before, so we are really excited! We will be staying at VWL for 3 nights and Vero for 2. 13 days and counting!!!

We split too. We do WDW first, then head to VB to relax. This year it will be 7 days at BCV then 4 days at VB.

We have not done this yet, but we will be doing WDW/VERO this fall We are spliting 11 nights at VWL/AKL/OKW then 3 nights at VERO and followed by 6 more nights at OKW We can't wait! This will also be our first stay longer than 7 nighs. I have a feeling it is going to be a very relaxing WDW vacation

We did it 2 years ago. Spent 2 nights at Vero to unwind, then 5 days at WDW. It was great! Tried to do it last year, but they were booked up and the waitlist did NOT come thru.

We are splitting our summer vacation this year between VB and BWV. We are going for 3 nights to VB then over to BWV for 6 nights to see the 4th of July fireworks. We love doing this--VB is just so laid-back, it's a nice change!

I love to combine VB and WDW. To me, Florida means the ocean and my one regret about going to WDW more often was that I no longer was taking my beach vacation. Once Vero opened -- problem solved!

In all of Florida, Feb-April is the prime season. It's only WDW that brings in the crowds for summer. Vero has also become very popular for a summer vacation because so many people tie it together with their WDW vacation. Ordinary folks don't think of Florida in the summer as the ideal....most Floridians head North if they can.

While many people like to go to Vero to recuperate from WDW, I find I enjoy doing it the other way around. Coming from the "go-go" action of WDW can make Vero seem a little dull. If I go to Vero first, I really enjoy all it has to offer and then crank things up another notch once I get to WDW.

We split our stays.

Since Vero opened, we usually spend 7-10 nights at WDW (usually OKW) followed by a very relaxing 3-4 nights at Vero before heading home.

We'll be doing this in August this year.

A lot of members do split times. Besides VB/WDW other options include off property for Seaword/Universal and the like, other beach options and even HH enroute. Many do cash for the weekends for other options and DVC for the weekdays. I've also talked to a number of people that travel for longer periods that do either HH or VB one week, cash in Orlando for off site options on weekends then WDW the next week. That gives them variety and saves on points as well as the long term costs. They do have to move twice but if you plan and pack accordingly, it's not a big deal.

We did it once. We started with two nights at VB, followed by 6 nights at OKW. VB was nice - we stayed in an Inn Room.

We did VB first because it would be impossible to drive through WDW without stopping and doing the parks on the way home.
