Does anyone here split ownership of their DVC contract with family members or other people?

Also, do you each own a different resort? (ex. you have 150 pt. contract at BWV that you own. The other person did an add on at WLV and owns 75 pts. there, but it is all on the same contract.)

Thanks for the answers.

Sounds messy.

I own two contracts, my sister owns two, my other sister owns one, my father owns two, we are still waiting for my brother to stop being a freeloader and buy his own points.

We were the first to buy, after seeing the GV and the fantastic OKW when we invited them in turn, they all bought their own contracts.

I don't think that you can do what is in your example. Add ons are to the original contract - use year and same owners. If two people are co-owners, one of them can not buy an add-on in their name.

We are co-owners with our daughter. We (I) purchased two additional add-ons that we own together. We named her "principle owner" as required by the contract. All three of us had to sign off on the new contrats for the add-ons.

We have a 300 point contract and split it with my father.....they call us co-owners, and my wife and step mother have the abitlity also to make reservations.

Four members of my family (2 brothers, sister) are DVC members. We all have our own separate contracts:rolleyes: , this is much easier to figure out and make ressies. But we do have the advantage that we all have different home resorts(OKW,HH,BWV) so when we want to get a GV or 2:D we can combine pts and have the 11 month window for ressies for our GV's.:D

ncligs,

we can combine pts and have the 11 month window for ressies for our GV's

how can you do this I thought transferred ppoints kept thier original home resort and other restrictions. so if you got BWV points combined with your OKW points and wanted to get a OKW GV the points from BWV can't be used to make a ressie until the 7 month window. AM i missing something?

MIke

No you aren't missing anything, you can't combine points from two different resorts and use them all at the same resort at the eleven month window.

She probably meant that while they do have some diffierent home resorts, some are the same and they can use and combine those...or mis-spoke somehow.

We have 4 people on our contract, my parents, brother, sister and myself. Together we purchased 220 points. We all wanted to be on the contract so that we can all make reservations and get member benefits. My family handles the point management for the group, so we have a central accounting system. We have all been able to do a lot with only a few points (technically, we each have 55 to spend in a year). We usually go separately, but sometimes go together, and have also combined points for a GV.

Last year my brother did an add-on at VWL, and then we did as well. We all signed off on these contracts (technically, we all own them). This has made the accounting a bit more complicated (two resorts, three contracts, four owners) but so far it's working!
