Does anyone second guess their plans just before vacation?

We have ten days until we arrive in Orlando and I'm startin to get anxious about our plans!

Sunday: arrive in Orlando early enough the get groceries and activate AFS tickets at DTD.

Monday- EPCOT RD, lunch ADR at Teppan Edo, dinner in room, possibly return for fireworks

Tuesday- DHS RD, return to resort in the late afternoon. Dinner ADR w/o DS at Artist Point. After dinner, head to MK for "big kid" rides.

Wednesday- MIL will be with us. We were planning to go to Blizzard BEach, but she REALLY wants to spend time with us and doesn't really want to go to the beach. She's not the kind of person that will get her panties in a wad if we go without her, but she does a lot for us and I'd like to spend time with her too! So... I'm thinking we might just go shopping at DTD and outlets this day... maybe do some resort hopping? It will be a relaxed day.

Thursday- SeaWorld, but we're not going to get up crazy early for it.

Friday- AK RD, return to resort in late afternoon. Dinner in room, followed by DH and I leaving DS at resort with a sitter so we can see the 10:30 showing of Fantasmic.

Saturday- Typhoon Lagoon with SIL, niece, nephew, an old roommate and DS. CANNOT WAIT!

Sunday- We were planning to shop/resort hop this day, but maybe we'll do Blizzard Beach instead... or DisneyQuest? We also have to change resorts that day (from off-property to WL) and it would be our only time to enjoy the WL pool.

Monday- MK RD. Small break at lunch to rest up before staying for Wishes that night.

Tuesday- late breakfast ADR at Chef Mickey's and then go home. :-(

That's why we don't make any set plans for our Disney trips! ;) We are typically planners, but that's not how we do Disney. The only set in stone plans we make are which parks on which day based on EMH. We don't even do ADRs because we don't want to be tied to a specific park on a certain day (we don't do hopper passes and we do QS dining.) We know what rides we want to do right away in the parks and then we just FP the others and kind of wander aimlessly and let the kids choose the route - we do always head back to the resort midday for a rest and swim before making our way back to the park in the evening. That's a must. For us, it just works better not having to stick to a certain schedule and plan. Much less stressful for us that way! It's just how we roll in Disney!:woohoo:

Well after reading these boards, yes I usually do. It's funny my sister and mother got to pick all the dinners this year, and every place they picked most usually favor another place to eat in it's stead. SO I am usually face palming sitting here, wishing I was involved in the decision making of the restaurants.
But then I get people that give off great encouragement with their reviews of things. But when it comes to navigating and planning for the parks, they come to me, so I don't ever second guess our GAME plan! hehe

but here are the places we are eating, I don't think I should second guess these places right? besides there is no time to turn back now! LOL

For the two other days we are gonna use counter service places, like peco bill's and pizzsafari (I love the Italian Sandwich they have there LOL)

Liberty Tree Tavern
Sci-Fi Diner
O’hana
Le Cellier
Narcoossee’s
Mama Melrose’s
Garden Grill
T-Rex

So should i be concerned about these places not being that great?
Also, I want to impress my Wife, we just got married back in Sept, not even a year of marriage yet, and she has never been to Disney!
LOL
::gulp!::

After spending months researching our trip in May, I did wonder if my plans were going to work out. All I can say is I'm SO glad I trusted them (and those Disers who helped me create them) because our trip went perfectly!

Hey thank you so much, makes me less worried, I hope she is. I think this is my most excited trip being raised a Disney kid, now showing my wife, who never knew anything like this, sort of sharing my childhood with her.

Isn't that why we are all here?? :lmao:

I had planned to "sort of" wing this upcoming week in october, BUT , now that Dad is joining us, I havev of course, set some plans into motion....:happytv:

I have already booked a may vacay as well...I plan to not really plan for that one, if you know what I mean...:lmao:
MAYBE a meal or two here or there, but that's about it....

Although I second guess myself every time I plan a trip, I actually end up wishing I had made MORE plans and MORE Adrs!
Of course, I do go wit the flow in the instance of weather/children/body pain but go prepared for all scenarios and never let it get to me.
At the end of teh day, we can cancel any ADRs that we cannot make it to and if we must skip something we will and know its not the end of teh world.
Usually I have tried to avoid the most crowded parks and got at least a few of our favorite ADRs. Being together at Disney makes the trip but all that behind-the-scenes planning that I do for my family is ALWAYS worth it!

P.S. Your plans are great and your wife will become a LOVER OF DISNEY too - no doubt!

:thumbsup2 Bingo, we dont either, just dinner. we just ->:littleangel: wing it :lmao:

Yes, I've been second-guessing my plans for a couple reasons. First, I'm ridiculously obsessive. :rotfl: But two, since Disney moved Fantasmic to a nightly schedule, some of our plans were based on my FW's insistence on seeing the show. Now that we could see it any night, I've been freaking out about ADRs. She finally convinced me (along with a WDWToday podcast they dedicated to my questions) that we should just stick with the current plan. :thumbsup2

I suffer from pre-trip anxiety and post-trip depression! :thumbsup2

OP, we'll be there at the same time. Let's hope for a great time! :thumbsup2

Before every trip, I second guess why I didn't plan for a longer trip. :lmao:

I am still trying to figure out how to move to Disney. :confused3 I am not talking about Orlando. I want to move into Disney. I want to buy a room at the Brardwalk and move in. :cool1: I just need to win the lottery a few times... :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yes all time time.

Um btw you're missing something on Friday-ME! lol

You'll notice the tagline under my profile name. It speaks for itself! My dd and I keep trying to get dh to leave us behind and buy us a permanent residence IN Disney! :rotfl: We literally had to drag her out from under the WL bunk beds last year when it was time to head home!:sad2:

:rotfl2: My dh is also 6'1", so he hasn't even tried to hide under the bed. We have often found him lurking behind tall t-shirt displays however in the hopes that if we can't find him, it may mean we'd miss our flight and all have to stay!

Hey before others call what they want I just wanna make it clear I don't want to end up with the tiki room or God forbide CoP, could you imagine I would be singing "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow!" over and over again in my head.

So can I kindly have the pirate ship in Pirates of the Caribbean !?
