It's a very sad memory, and I've often wondered if anyone has been in touch with her after the horrible family tragedy last summer.
A brief refresher..she was a proud, doting grandmother who had recently taken her oldest granddaughter on a Disney cruise. She posted a fun trip report with adorable pictures, as well as pics of her newborn granddaughter. A few weeks after the cruise, her DD and granddaughters died in a housefire. (The newborn 'Sophie' managed to survive a few weeks after the fire before she lost her fight.)
I think of them almost every time I see the purple ribbons in people's signature lines. I wonder about her son-in-law (who was at work when it happened.) It's probably the worst tragedy I've ever known to have happened to one family. I still sometimes pray for them.

, nothing pulls at the heartstrings quite like this.
I had just joined the boards and was planning my own cruise--Emmysgrammy answered a question I raised. Hard to believe it's been just a year. . . .
