Pay off your contract 1 day past due date

there does seem to be a good bit of drama involving the guide... who went from writing nice little handwritten notes and gifts to being persona non grata in @Girlstar30 's heart... and I'm sure there are some details as to why...
When i almost didnt get the 2025 points when I was promised I would and after I bought more points from them yet they wanted to give me less is where the honeymoon was over and the letter to Bob Iger and the complete wrath of Girlstar30 began 🤣🤣🤣

Although I didnt hear a direct response from him, the issue was resolved and I am very glad, because I would have been very sad if it hadnt. It took me two hours to write that letter at midnight because I couldnt sleep after my wife and I cried that night because I wrote a recission letter and was saying goodbye to some of my Disboards friends who know everything that happened. I know so dramatic, but I really thought it was going to be the end of the road for us 🤣🤣🤣

Did you decide to buy more points past the start of the UY when you previously made the deal before the UY started to get the 2025 UY points? Again, not saying it was right, but this is not the norm for a majority of direct buyers.

Yes and I was worried that if I did that I wouldnt get the 2025 points but I was reassured that it would be okay and I would get them and yeah that wasnt true. Should I have known better? Yes.

But when someone that is supposed to guide you tells you that you have nothing to worry about, why should I? Well I was pissed ofc and then I was told I was going to be given all the points after all but after days of waiting and then it was only 165.

It took me days to figure out why it was actually 165 and I was told I was gifted 15 points extra on top of what i was supposed to get (which i thought was 200) but really its because they were only making good on the 150 and because i used those 15 points before the new incentive round and apparently they didnt exist anymore, they gave them to me.

i dont know it was a complete mess with no explanations along the way just them telling me they gave me everything and MS went through every transaction and me thinking i was going crazy and miscalculating and feeling guilty that maybe i didnt know what I was talking about. Until they finally admitted I was right, but they didnt want to honor it. It was a roller coaster of my guide saying your right they approved it and us being all happy and celebrating and the next day MS calling me and saying no were not giving it to you.

That did not fly with me. I wanted the 200 I was promised. That didnt fly with them. It got ugly and I just wanted out and wrote a recission letter. Its not what I really wanted but I seriously felt like I was dealing with a sleazy timeshare company and not Disney.

A few weeks have passed now, a new guide with experience that we love, and Disney eventually making good on their promises has kept me here. But it was a battle and I am traumatized from buying from them direct after this experience

Are you saying that this community keeps some of us in the DVC Points? I wouldn’t be surprised!

Sounds like poor words, coupled with lack of accountability, and an unwillingness to “make it right” (at first). Glad you were able to get them to honor what was said. That does speak volumes about Disney in my view, that, eventually they were willing to stand by what was committed. Many other companies would have thrown the other employee under the bus and stood by the accountants’ decision.

And I completely agree with you, although I would have wanted more acknowledgement for us to go over everything that went wrong and validate that what happened was definetely not okay, they did do an internal investigation, which I assume meant reading the emails and phone calls and they did stand by their word in the end. They were in no way legally obligated to do so.

Im glad that recission periods exist for these types of situations but we did really want this and Disney's willingness to make it right really does differentiate them. I feel like any other timeshare would have been like well unfortunately you signed a new contract not entitling you to those points and our old offer doesnt exist anymore, sorry that the salesperson gave you wrong info and kick rocks lol.

I am very happy that my favorite place in the world is different and part of the reason we love Disney so much. I cant remember one time where there was a concern and they didnt do something that showed they cared 🥰 And I think i would fall in the not easy to please category and I am very pleased with our membership 🤣🤣
 
Unfortunately even though I do want to help people and share everything that happened piece by piece in a thread, there most likely will be people, the "Disney can do no wrong" folks who somehow found a way to blame me for everything and im just not in the mood to deal with it tbh.

I know this wasnt my fault or they wouldnt have honored it and I have already completely gotten over it and moved on so the chance of someone blaming me on a situation I felt really hurt by and didnt need to happen would definitely be unsolicited 🤣 But you get the gist 🤣
