Does anyone own anywhere else?

My husband and I are looking at DVC. We want to stay at Disney the majority of our time. But once in a while we'd also like to trade out with II to stay other places.

I know this is not the best use of points. But I'd like the flexibility occasionally.

Does anyone here ever trade out with II or do you just own another timeshare elsewhere?

own other timeshares.

did trade Disney once - a wedding gift for a wonderful friend.

now would have traded one of my others.

have a II that trades to DVC. the other just trades to Orlando (RCI)

some others here have Marriott, Westin, Wynham - but these are all to expensive for me.

We are like you. We stay at Disney most of the time with only occasional trades elsewhere. We only own at DVC and use our points to trade when/if we choose. We have traded for Hawaii and Sedona, AZ and have also used our points on DCL and at Disneyland. We had no desire to stay anywhere else on a regular basis, or to trade out frequently, so we felt that DVC was the absolute best option for us.

If you do decide to buy a TS somewhere else do your homework. We have several friends who own namebrand TSs and have extreme difficulty with trades. Just make sure that you know all of the ins and outs of the TSs policies before you sign on the dotted line.

I own other places, and you need to buy resale.

My Lakeside Terrace(Starwood) ski week in Avon(Beaver Creek) CO cost me total $8000. It's a 2br dedicated unit. MF's run about $750 ish a year.

It does well in II, been to Marriott's Summit Watch and I exchanged it for Sheraton Broadway Plantation for July 4th 2009.

I think we might actually go out for Spring Break 2010(give VB a break).

In the process of buying a unit in MI, cost me $1587 getting 07&08 weeks that are banked into exchange company. Fixed week 32, MF's $532. 2br unit that has just been refurbished. This is a good deal, even if I don't stay the whole week I come out much farther ahead then renting a place "Up North".

Dean, our DIS expert on II, helped me out a lot and I will say to anyone who wants to use II with their DVC points. JOIN TUG, read the reviews and the message board.

Have you ever traded into II with DVC?

Have you ever traded into II with DVC?

No because I have my preferred WDW time and we stay in 2br units. My Starwood unit can pull all the DVC's and you mostly see studios, 1brs at OKW and SSR. It's rare that you see a bigger unit at the times I would want to go.

Though I have seen GV at SSR and HHI for the week of Nov 16.

I think trading into DVC through II is good for someone who can go off season and make do with a studio or 1br.

Where do you find other time sales and how do you know which ones are good?

definitely trade my II (it is also RCI) timeshare to DVC - have gotten studio at BCV and SSR, 1-bedroom at SSR - travel generally solo - so studios work great for me.

there is another site but promise not to tell unless you buy that timeshare
Foxrun in LakeLure, Nc

it sees alot of DVC's.
