Does anyone NOT take a break during the day?

Last August, we spent our 4 days at the parks from opening, until closing (except MGM where we were majorly rained out). We still didn't do everything we had wanted to do! Of course, we were exhausted after our vacation!
We are planning to go again in less than a month...we (I guess I should say "I") plan to do it the same way. Are there any other families who do not take a break? Or are we in the minority? My kids are 16, 14, 11 and 9. I'm sure it would be different if they were younger!

Never. Not even once in over 40 visits. We started going when I was 3, with my parents and grandparents. We went at least once a year until I was 15 with my parents and grandparents, then my grandparents and I started going again when I was around 20, and went about 5 times in that year, with no breaks. It's just not our style.

I don't usually take breaks when I go to the parks. I think out of all the times I've been I've only had maybe 2-3 times when I've taken a break and it usually had more to do with me not feeling well than anything else. Otherwise I just stay in the parks from morning till night. :)

We never take a break. We go every August, (and went last new years too) and are going again in 3 weeks, We don't get to the parks till about 10 or 10:30, but we stay thill they close, and we ususally get to do everything we want to do. My daughter was 12 when we started going every year, and she hung in there with all of us.

We had always taken breaks in past trips, but we were with my SIL, BIL, and 4 1/2yr old niece this June. It was easier with niece to keep going until she was exhausted. It was definitely a different experience. I now think it depends on the child or children and their ages.

We have never taken a break--its just DH and I. We get to the parks early and stay until close (we go in Jan or Sept so parks arent open late). We are tired at night when we get to the room for bed though!!

Although this trip in Sept, I will be 7months pregnant so breaks will probrably be a must! I would assume that just take it as the day comes..if you feel you need a break then take one..if not then stay and play!!

Have fun!

From the time that I was a shorty myself, inc starting dd off when she was 2, I have never left the park for a break/ pool/ nap etc... However, we do enjoy a nice *break* in an air conditioned restaurant for lunch or an early dinner. That's just the only way it makes sense for me. (I have stayed on and off site)

We've never taken a break either and we've been going since 1973!! However, may try it this week..... I'm getting too old for this!!!!(sorry, about to turn the big 4-0!!!):faint:

We never leave the parks to take a break, however we do stop for a while to eat and rest (preferably somewhere airconditioned)

we never take a mid day break but go in winter when the hrs are shorter, it's cooler and less crowded plus we eat a sit down meal for lunch ( kind of a "faux break") so we have never felt the need to. we do however take a break from the parks every few days to have a change of pace( usually do all the parks 1 day, take a day break then repeat some of the parks)

Never took any breaks either, afraid we might miss something. Start early stay till closing. You'll be tired but took a day off during the week to regroup. Going in Aug. with friends that never been there. Hope I'm not too tough on them.:wave2:

We'll just have to see. Have been to Disneyland 4 times and vary with our break habits. Have been known to get to park at 8:00 a.m. and leave at midnight with no break (two kids ages 7 and 9) and hopping between the two parks many times. One thing that may really dictate a break for us at WDW however is the two hour time difference. To get there at EMH, we will be leaving hotel at around 7:00-7:30, 5:00-5:30 to us. We may have a hard time turning in too early as it will seem two hours earlier. I guess you just have to be flexible and be willing to do it either way! I think another consideration is the length of stay. We will be there for 10 days, that's alot of park time!

We took them when the kids were little, but not now (DD11 & DS9).

But we always park hop! We go to one park for the morning/early afternoon, then go to another park for late afternoon/evening. Just sitting on the bus, or taking a boat to another park is relaxing, as is finding a quiet lunch spot (Like the gardens at Yakatori House in Epcot).

And if we are there for a week or 8 days, we take an entire day off in the middle - hang by the pool, shop the gift shop, have a nice long dinner at our resort (don't even want to commute to another resort!).

I never do. But when I travel it's just two adults and we consider a long afternoon lunch in a sit down resteraunt to be enough of a break.

But actually now that I think of it, when I was younger traveling with my parents and younger brother, we never took midday breaks either.

I've never taken a break with either my family (growing up) or with my husband on our honeymoon. I never really considered the option before coming to the DIS boards...To a certain extent, I guess it would seem like more of a hassle to travel all the way back to our hotel (WL, so no monorail) only to come right back a couple hours later. However, it is an interesting concept and I think DH and I might try it on our next trip just to see how it works out. One thing we never had time for on our honeymoon was to just relax around the resort and swim; taking a mid-day break seems like a good way to do that!

Now it is just the two of us, but we have never taken a break during the day. I find it takes much to long to take a break. When you are there on precious time, I want to make the most of the time we have. We go to the park and during the day we stop often and sit for awhile several times a day. we love to people watch and enjoy the screney around us. You actually can learn alot by stopping and watching things. this is the time we usually get our must have items like, at mk a dole whip, etc.

but not by design, rather just because it happens... we're also nappers, so that encourages us to break!

w/out the kids, dh and i never took a break... first time w/kids we only had one day in a park (MK) and we were there from open to close w/ds napping in the stroller... last time we were there for 11 days and we took a break every single day... not because we planned it but because we needed and enjoyed it...

basically we'd be at park at open (always early entry, mainly 'cause my kids are up at 6am regardless of what time they go to bed!) and by noon/1pm we'd be fading fast (and have accomplished alot, we also go off-season) so we'd grab a snack and head back to the hotel for a nap and a swim (in that order) and then we'd be revived and ready to take on the world all over again... as dh puts it, "it's like getting two days in one!" and he's right, it was!

We have 4 kids and have never taken a break, even though I have read all of the guidebooks. First of all, we are not early risers on vacation. We usually get to the parks slightly after opening, but we are not there waiting for the gates to open. Secondly, my kids never want to leave the park once we get there. I could never get them to walk out without doing all that they want to do. Sometimes we stay late into the evening, other times we leave for dinner elsewhere and a late dip in the pool. I know that taking a break "sounds" like a good idea, but it is just not for us. I feel that all that time in transit is a waste of time. We do schedule off days here and there to catch up on our rest when we can.

We took a break our first trip down, DD was 6, other DD was 9 months old. Our next trip, we stayed off site, so we didn't take a break, and haven't taken a break since! We do find time at each park, to sit and relax, but to us, there's so much to do, we don't want to miss a thing. We arrive soon after park opening, and stay until the park closes.
