We're going with friends 9/26-10-3 and were thinking of wearing matching shirts :grouphug: (okay - only I was thinking about it but I'm the planner and they will usually go along with what I ask).

I found this really cool jpg of MSSHP party. I was going to make my own iron ons and put them on orange shirts from AC Moore and call it a day.

My "better" half says that this is not allowed and is concerned that we'll get in trouble at Disney.:confused3

Does anyone have experience with this? If I can't do this how can I get matching shirts for less money than buying through Disney?

Check out the Creative DISigns board. Lots of people make shirts, bags, pillowcases etc for their Disney trips

Disney will only care if you try to sell them or make a profit from your use of their images.

You can make shirts for personal use....it will not stop me from laughing at you in your theme dressed attire, but Disney is not going to sue you.

BTW--I will be there 9/25-10/3 so make them a nice bright orange, so I can see the group of four and laugh :) The last trip we took there were 8 adults staying at our hotel with matching hats, shirts, and the ladies had matching socks also---turns out one of the group was a bedazzling maniac--my husband and the "men" from the theme-dressed party shared some beers in the lounge. DH came back from the lounge and told me in no uncertain terms would we ever theme dress. I still get a good chuckle thinking of that group.

Yes!!! Join Creative DIS....it's addictive!

Better get your tickle box warmed up before your trip. Disney people don't care how much you laugh, chuckle, or point....real men wear Mickey Mouse (and anything else their wife spends her time creating for their Disney trip)!!! My sons and my husband all had brown polos with a pirate Mickey embroidered on the chest and I heard nary a laugh or any finger pointing going on, and then there was the red polo with Mickey Mouse, and then the..........well you get the picture!!! To each his own:banana:

Real bright - maybe not. My son is the only boy in the group (I will probably have to pay him again - last trip it cost me 10 bucks to have him wear a blue 2007 Mickey shirt). But I'm sure you won't be able to miss us. We'll be in matching orange MNSSHP shirts and another family of 3 is going with us and I'll be having them wear the shirts also (they'll humor me). If you see us say "hi" - I'll get a kick out of it.

Thanks to everyone. I've only been here 6 months but I love the DIS :disrocks:

I made a lot of shirts and stuff for the kids. Last trip I had 6 kids I made stuff for (3 families). Disney does not care. I even Disney blinged up my evening gown for our dinner at Victoria & Albert's and then walked down Main Street in it.

We've done matching shirts and have made our own and sometimes just bought matching ones from the Disney Store too. Its especially good when you have a really large group-one time we had 17 of us and it made for awesome pictures and also made it easy to find each other in a sea of people. We only ever got compliments from park goers and CM's alike. Now if for some reason my shirts make you laugh, well isn't that a good thing? There's too little laughter in the world these days anyway. People walk around so serious with a pole jammed up their backsides. Its sad. Certainly different strokes for different folks, but I wouldn't be offended if I can make you laugh either at me or with me.

We are making our own from DISigns off the DISign boards. Laugh away

Well, as I sit here with purple feet from a tipped bucket of tie dye...:rotfl2:

The 4 of us will be wearing our shirts next week in MK. I also will be paying my son to wear his shirt! :rotfl:

I made ours. Mostly matchy for the kids but DH and I had matching ones for AK. Be careful, it's addictive! We didn't buy one t-shirt when we were there. The kids were thrilled that they had a different Disney personalized shirt for every day at the parks. I was happy that it didn't cost me a mint. I agree. Check out the CreativeDis. That's where I got help for our shirts.

I will keep my eyes open for a family in orange, that has a boy with a wallet full of cash. :)

We may see you....I have heard "it's a small world". Too much, I know, but I couldn't let it go.

When we were in MK this past February, there was a group of younger guys I am thinking cast members on their day off. They were wearing t-shirts they had made, each had a different character on the front on the back of each of the shirts it said "bibbity bobbity broke".

Have fun on your trip, and if I see you I will take a photo of your group and post it on the boards :goodvibes

I ended up getting lime green :thumbsup2 (the oranges for the adults and kids didn't match).

There is no way you'll be able to miss us now. MK on 9/27.

ooh cute ideas !!!!!
my hubby will kill me, LOL.

last time I prepared outfits for us, we were ALL in camo outfits to go to Animal Kingdom, hee hee. Looked AWESOME, but he wasnt thrilled. (but he got over it =)
he's a non-spotlight kinda person, and Im his complete opposite :lmao:

I don't do them for the whole family but I'll be doing them for my girls. It is just too hard and too expensive to find matching clothes for them because of the 7 year age difference, so I make my own. At the bare minimum, they'll have Mickey tie-dyes, a couple of painted shirts, at least one with a Mickey fabric twirl skirt, and probably some appliqued shirts using a soft storybook kit I picked up on clearance at Michaels.
