It's my son's first trip and we are going our first night for dinner. I have always gone there for the characters not the food. Any recent positive comments? Anyone?
Thanks!
I think that this is the best answer in this thread. The buffet is large enough and diverse enough that you can find something that you like. The guy cutting the prime rib remembered me after the 2nd visit. And the potatoes were excellent. My wife has various food allergies (soy, gluten, dairy) and had plenty to eat. Is it a Ruth Chris steakhouse, no, but not too shabby though. We were there for dinner in April 2014 and we had no complaints about the food, everyone in our family of five found something they liked. We'd go there again because the kids really liked the characters (and the dessert bar!), but next time I would make sure to request a table in the center room! My one regret after our one and only visit was that they put us in a corner in one of the back rooms so my kids (all boys) missed out on the rowdy and fun dining antics and I know they would have loved that (thank goodness I was the only one who realized we missed out). Boo.

I'm definitely in the never again camp. Have done two breakfasts and one dinner, all on our earlier trips. Kept thinking it was just an off time and would be better the next time. Back then I was hearing rave reviews about it all over the place. I guess we kind of resigned ourselves to think all Disney buffets would be chaotic, dirty, and yucky food.
But then we tried other places and found this one quickly went to the bottom of the list. We really enjoyed Tusker House so much more and you get to see Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Daisy. Maybe not the Fab Five, but close enough! It's so much cleaner, food is better, less chaotic. Also loved 1900 Park Fare dinner. And even felt Crystal Palace was better.
So my question to those who do like Chef Mickeys.... Have you tried any of the others? Do you have anything to compare it to? Just curious!
