Does Anyone Known Of A Clean/Nice Hotel By Hershey Park HELP???

I hate to be discrediting but that is so disgusting - I want a nice CLEAN ROOM THAT DOES NOT HAVE ROACHES OR DIRT and want a nice place to sit back and relax in :cool1:

Welcome to my part of the woods! :wave2: Fall time is beautiful her is pa.
The Hershey lodge is wonderful..but yes very high in price.
Their camp ground is very nice, and they do have cabins.
There is also the Steamboat on 30 in lancaster.
It is about 30 away from Hershey. There is many hotel chains close by to Hershey. Send for information from http://www.800padutch.com/
If you like country shopping...GrandMa's attic is one of my favorite places along with Jakes trading post!
You have a friend in Pennsylvania

Hey Everyone who has stayed in willow valley- did you ever stay in a suite? and if so what was in the suite? It Looks like in pictures that a recliner comes in the suite and that would be great if so because someone in our family lives to sleep in those since they have some back disabilities. If you can help great but if not I will call the resort directly Thanks :cheer2:

we've stayed in a suite... in the atrium building... it was very comfortable... i remember sitting in the recliner, but did not "recline" so i am not much help... the recliner was a "slimmer" style than a traditional lazy boy (i think they call them ladies' recliners?) w/out as much padding...

what i like about willow valley is the fun atmosphere, it's clean as can be, there's always something to do, there are great places to do nothing (LOL), the food is outstanding (and reasonable if you go for the bed and breakfast package or a family special where breakfast and dinner buffets are included in your room rate), the employees are as pleasant as the day is long, there's a beautiful chapel on the property and we've always seen a bride on a saturday or sunday (much to dd's delight! LOL!), it's secluded but not off the beaten path (if that makes sense)... it's just imo the next best thing to disney! LOL!

I'm so sorry if I offended you with my post. It wasn't made to offend anyone. I was trying to be funny while letting others know that there is a campground there as well. I know camping isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it is definitely something my family would check into as we love camping. We have a pop up and spend a lot of time camping during the summer.

One word of advice, do not eat at any of the Amish homes that offer dinners. I live in the area and there have been several casses, not rumors in the newspaper of sickness which was traced to the places. The places are private homes and do not come under most of the guidelines of the health department. The amish do not have electric, and most of the water comes from wells, which they use to cook with and is not treated. Not trying to be gross, just trying to spare someone an unpleasant vacation. There are also many small motels in Hershey which you might want to check out. Also as season ticket holders of Hershey Park I can tell you that after the 4th of July the Park is really crowded. The best time to vist is May or June.

This thread came at a good time for us. We will be going through Hershey in mid-August and thought we'd do the park and a few other things. I realize this is prime time as far as crowds go, but will we be miserable? We just won't be able to go any other time. I'd appreciate any advice and suggestions on other things to do in the area besides the park. Thanks!

To those of you who have stayed at Willow Valley, does this resort book up fast for the summer months? I was thinking of staying here Tues-Fri in mid-June, but am not positive of my travel plans. Will I be out of luck if I don't book soon? Thanks for any tips!

Willow Valley books quickly but probably more so in the cooler months. We stayed at Willow Valley over Easter one year and traveled to Hershey "springtime in the park". It takes about 40 min. or so to get there. However Willow Valley had a lot to do on their property like making bunny cakes and easter egg hunts....pools and bakery are great! Dutch Wonderland is close, right by the outlets. I have never been there although I have heard it is more for the younger children. :flower: The last 2 years we stayed close to Hershey in a quality and holiday inn.....as long as it has an indoor pool my kids are happy! :Pinkbounc They are much happier this year that Disney is their Easter vacation! ENJOY!!!!!!! PS...we took in a Hershey Bear game while there last year too.

Yeah we would want to go for 4th of july break. Yes Dutch Wonderland is mainly for younger kids but we asked if it was close to give us an idea of where willow valley is since we have always been to lancaster but have never heard of this place until the disboards :rotfl: which obviously means you guys are the best :cheer2:

I would 2nd Springhill Suites in Hershey. Since it is owned by Marriott, you have a reputable name standing behind it.

Well, I've got a slightly different tactic to offer -- the bed and breakfast route. There's a lovely little place just up the road from the splendiforous Hotel Hershey (wherever you end up staying, go to their spa and indulge in a chocolate body wrap ... sigh...) called The Inn at Westwynd Farm. DH and I love this little horse farm in the countryside. He even proposed there. It's quiet and relaxing, and a simply gorgeous house. Breakfasts are wonderful and the owners, Carolyn and Frank, are dears.
Happy planning,

The Hotel Hershey, and Hershey Lodge are excellent choices when visiting Hersheypark. In the Lancaster area there is another hotel where we stayed, called the Hershey Farm & Inn (listed in the town of Strasburg instead of Lancaster). Nice pool, gardens, petting zoo, etc. DW loves it since it is very close to the Rockvale Square Outlets. It's also within walking distance to the Sight and Sound Theatre. Have a great time wherever you stay.

We're doing hershey in august too! Made ressies at Willow Valley (on the recommendations of fellow dissers! :flower: ) In the past we've stayed at the comfort suites, HI East Harrisburg, and the HI grantville. All are very nice hotels.

We stayed at the Hotel Hershey once and the hotel is lovely, the grounds even more so, but it was literally the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in! I wouldn't have wanted to stay there for more than a night.

We just stayed at the Comfort Inn in Hershey (they say Hummelstown, but it's right there) on Friday night (2/18) for $59 through hotels.com. It was very clean and just as nice as the Hotel Hershey for a third of the price. There's a free continental breakfast in the morning and through hotels.com we got other coupons for meals in the area. It was a great place to stop as we were heading south. Would I stay there for a vacation? Probably not, but it was great for the money. When we stayed at Hotel Hershey, I thought it was very over-priced for what it was - the free Hershey bar didn't make up for it.

I dont want to be negative, but I dont want anyone here to think that hershey park is anyway near as great as DISNEY WORLD.
I dont want you to be disapointed that it is a small amusment park!
Belive me I love HERSHEY PARK, we go every year mostly. Two times last year, due to they have a policy that if it rains you can come back for free.
They have some great rides, with long lines!
But it is not as exciting as disney. You do get free chocolate at the end of the free tour. But the 3D movie is a a high price for a big let down.
Best time to go is at the end of Sept. when everyone here is getting ready to go back to school!
HUGS AND KISSES!!! ::MickeyMo

Oh Thank you everyone for your help! No I was not affended by anyones comments just stating that I did not want that type of room. Also, Yes we've been to hersheypark alot when we were younger and know its no where close to disney but they have alot of rollercoasters which we love. Also it is good for a change of atmosphere. Has anyone actually stayed in springhill suites in hershey? or a hotel called four points by sheraton located in harrisburg? It is about 7 or 8 miles away from hershey and looks real nice and its a starwood hotel. Any help is appreciated :cheer2:
