I don't think that anything has been announced or even rumored yet. They did in the past couple of years or so go through all the MK resorts and refurbed them, and so we all figured it's just a matter of time before the Epcot deluxes get worked as well. Now it has been announced the BWI is in the process of beginning a room refurb, so we can only assume that perhaps the YC or BC are next. But as to when, who knows?
An annoucement was made recently that all rooms at the Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk Inn would be rennovated. They've already started on the Boardwalk Inn.
Walt Disney World begins a large refurbishment project covering several of its most popular on-site resorts. Renovations are scheduled to begin this summer at the Caribbean Beach Resort and Boardwalk Resort, followed later in the year with Beach Club, Yacht Club, Coronado Springs, and Wilderness Lodge Villas. The projects include total refurbishment of the guests rooms, including new carpet, wallpaper, paint and furniture.
We were at YC a couple weeks ago, and a couple CM's had mentioned that they are going to be starting the refurb. I asked if they were going to put in a moving sidewalk for the length of the property. They chuckled and said that it would be a bad idea
Our room was overlooking the quite pool of the YC (taking a right down that hallway), so we we just about the furthest you can be from everything. And boy oh boy is that place big. toward the end of our stay we all were dreading walking. One our last day (we didn't have to leave until late afternoon) we didn't even bother going to SAB, none of us wanted to walk and lug our carry on bag and the beach bag etc, we just stayed at the quiet pool until 4p. (even ordered room service there)
I am staying late Nov/early Dec on club level at the Yacht Club. I just got off the phone with the IPO planners & she told me it should be finish by late August to mid Sept. She said they have already started it. I have two rooms one for myself & DH & the other for DS & DIL. I can get a Turrett Suite room if needed but looking for anyone that stay there. Anyone? Thanks ~
Does this apply to the DVC villas too? We're booked at the BCV in Jan. It was down to a choice between BCV and AKV and newly refurbed rooms would mean we really made the right choice.
This is what I was told by a Yacht Club manager this morning no rehab for the Yacht Club Resort until 2009. Also got this from the IPO planners so who knows what going on lol
At this time, the Yacht Club is not scheduled for any rehab during your
stay. I am staying late Nov/early Dec
