I'm going to WDW April 28 - May 6, 2006. So far, my rate with Budget isn't that great.

Does anyone know how far out they start offering better discounts? Also, can someone explain National's Emerald Aisle to me? We used Budget this year and had a great experience (coming off a a good 1.5 hr wait for Alamo the previous year). I'm looking for a quick way to get out of the airport and on our way to the magic!

Thanks!

I would just keep checking. Actually, the National site had a pop up for free EA, so I would sign up. We use National EA almost all the time, and I think get pretty good rates. THis fall, we have a full size for a week for $106, all taxes included, in DEC, it's $123, and Feb Pres week it's $250, but that's 10 days. Pres week is always tough. I have found though, that unless there's a last minute discounted rate, the farther in advance you book with National, the better the rate is. I book and than just keep checking back. There's been a couple times that within a couple weeks of travelling I was able to save a few bucks. We Love EA. Walk out to the car. Very easy. Last year we had a budget reservation that $7-8 less that EA, but opted for EA since we preferred the sure thing. Nice to know you had a good experience with Budget.
For Ea, be sure to check out the codes on mousesavers, and also use the Entertainment book coupons, if you can get your hands on some.

if you would like a good rate might I suggest checking the budget located at the doubletree at downtown disney they are offering a small suv for about 117 a week plus tax. You can take ME to your resort and a taxi to the budget location at the doubletree. This would be a good standby plan if the rates at the airport do not come down.

I joined National's Emerald club and did get a better rate ($280 for 9 days - full size car). I'm still watching for deals though :)

I am renting a home so I couldn't take advantage of the ME service to the doubletree -- but what a great rate! Thanks for sharing it!

You may want to buy an entertainment book or see if someone will give you the national coupons. YOu should be able to add a $20 off coupon and get that little lower. I've done that before by just modifying the reservation.
