Does anyone know the closing cost to purchase DVC from Disney?

August 2017 I closed on a direct VGC 100pts at $185/point and closing was $109. The agent seemed surprised when it came up (too low?) but I had been inquiring about DVC for years and finally pulled the trigger. Not sure if that influenced the amount. I would guess it depends on dollar amount of contract, but not sure. You could always ask them to be sure.

What Bill said. And yes, for the first number of years after DVC began, Disney charged NO closing costs.

The more points you buy the higher the closing I believe. I think if you wanted more than 1 contract it would be more as well. (some people do 1 contract per child so that later their children can easily split the membership)

We have several contracts and bought some when there was no closing. Thinking of adding now that
we need larger accommodations.

On the DVC website when you put in an example of a purchase of 100-124 points for aulani or CCV it shows the closing costs of just over $500 so I would imagine that less points would be a lower closing cost

I'm not sure how they calculate closing on direct points. I've seen other threads and couldn't really figure it out.

We paid over $100 but less than $150 in October 2017 for 60 BWV points.

Could the "new" resorts come with higher closing costs for some reason. When I bought my 60 BWV I do think it would have been significantly more for 75 CCV....what the guide was pushing. I can't quite remember now, though...

As others have stated, closing costs buying direct from Disney are minimal, and depend on the number of points purchased. People often think they are getting a significant deal when buying resale vs. direct, but depending on the size of the contract, may actually be paying nearly the same after closing costs on secondary market. My closing costs direct have ranged from $108.60 to $483.16, both at Polynesian but different sized contracts.

I just signed the contract today for a direct at OKW. 100 points was $406. $195 was a “Document Preparation Fee” and $211 was “Settlement Charges to Buyer.” I don’t know if it maybe differs if you are brand new to DVC (like me) or already an established buyer that is adding on.

Not negotiable but the policies and costs change as they see fit. Closing was free a few years ago, today they charge based on contract price, tomorrow they may decide that they want more profit so they may charge based on price plus $95 a convenience fee.
