Lewski - that is so wrong!!! Next time you go you should print out a copy of their return policy and take it with you and if they won't let you return something - you can show them the policy then and there - here it is:

TIME LIMITS
Returns must be made within 90 days of purchase. After 90 days, manufacturer warranty will apply. Exceptions to the 90 days are as follows:
Computers: Items returned with unopened package must be made within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, the manufacturer warranty will apply
Electronics/Projection TV: Items returned with unopened package must be made within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, the manufacturer warranty will apply.
Photo Processing: Returns must be made at the Photo Counter within 14 days with the original envelope.
Ammunition: Returns must be made within 24 hours of purchase.
RETURN GUIDELINES
With Receipt:
Returns accompanied by a Meijer register receipt that is properly verified and validated by the store system will be refunded in the same manner as the item was paid for.
Without Receipt:
Returns without a receipt will require identification, will be given the lowest sale price in the last 30 days and will be refunded using a Meijer Return Card.
Items Given as a Gift:
Returns with a gift or original receipt will follow "with receipt" guideline.
Returns without a gift or original receipt will follow "without receipt" guideline.
Holiday/Seasonal Items:
Returns with an original receipt will follow "with receipt" guideline.
Returns without receipt will follow "without receipt" guideline or allow exchange for identical item.
Nonreturnable Items:
Alcoholic beverages unless product is spoiled.
Computers, Electronics/Projection TVs: if opened no return on music, movies, video games, computers, computer software, electronics, projection TVs and collectibles. Exchange for identical item available if return due to defect within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days manufacturer warranty will apply.
Ammunition:
May be returned using the "with receipt" guidelines with approval of the Sporting Goods Department. Provided no sign of tampering is observed. Must be made within 24 hours of purchase.
Tents:
May be exchanged "with receipt" or "without receipt" for identical item only if found to be defective.
Prescription Drugs:
Require authorization of a pharmacist prior to any return being granted.
Fashion Items:
Dresses, swimsuits and lingerie must have the tickets on them unless defective. Applies whether "with receipt" or "without receipt."
