Does anyone know if you can return a gift card??

DH's parents sent 2 of the older kids Kohl's gift cards (the younger ones got Target) and they have already asked me to buy them off of them so they can get something somewhere else

This is my MIL too, she gets the 2 older girls gift cards to Macys or Kohls and I end up buying them from the girls so they can have the cash. College students need pizza and gas money, not stuff from Macys. This year I suggested at least gift cards to Target since they can get a bigger variety of items and for less money.

We have received gift cards to restaurants we don't go to, but we usually end up regifting those. ;)

Check out giftcards.com and you can turn it in for cash! They re-sell the giftcards on thier website. So you can sell your card or buy a card.

Body Shop has the BEST medicated lip balm on the planet (their vitamin e formula), but it's expensive. Personally, I'd use the card to stock up. Depending on how much she gave you, you can probably get enough to stash one in your car and a couple of coat pockets.

(Seriously, it's GREAT lip balm. It's not flavored, but it will defeat the effects of a below-zero wind chill.)

Just FYI for folks.....my SIL always gives my kids useless gift cards. And I do mean useless, gift cards for places where we don't even have that place around here...:confused3. The last ones were for a movie theatre we don't have within 50 miles of us. I called the phone number and they did refund us the money. They took the card number and cancelled the card and sent a refund check. :thumbsup2

It never hurts to ask. :goodvibes

Return a gift card - no... You can sell it and usually get about 3/4 or less of the value. OR why not just use it! I am sure you can find something there you would like... :)

Are we talking abotu the same Body SHop that carries all the skanky clothes??? I have never been in the one in our mall becuase the window displays look like a hooker convention!

:rotfl: Now THAT gift card would be funny to get from a MIL!

I am pretty sure the OP got one from this place: http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/

It is very similar to Bath & Body Works although a bit pricier in my experience. I have only been to ones in the airports though so that may be why the prices have seemed higher. The products seem to be a very high quality and some of it smells amazing! That being said, I do prefer the more familiar fragrances of Bath & Body works and especially the foaming soaps like the OP had mentioned and hoped to get so I can understand her wanting to get something from a store where she knows and uses the products.
