...and if so, where? DD has a milk allergy. We will bring soy milk with us to the parks every day but if we run out I'd like to know if we can get some at the parks (or Downtown Disney). Thanks!

I have not seen it..I also know that they do not have whole milk..only lowfat. DGD gets stomach issues with lowfat milk for some reason and we had a hard time with that and ended up buying whole milk offsite for her.

I hate to say it, but In the 3 times that I've been to DL over the past 2 years, I've never seen it either in the parks or in the convenience stores. I've got 2 in my family that are dairy allergic and one that is lactose intolerant, so it's best to bring soy milk with you, if you are driving down.

If you can't find it around the DLR, there are grocery stores in the area, not impossible to get to by bus or cab, they're not very far, but I know the last thing you want to be doing during your vacation - just throwing out a last ditch option though.

Ralph's
Von's
Food 4 Less
Henry's Farmer's Market
7-11 - not too sure if they'd have it there, but you could call

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I hoped maybe some places might have it within the parks (they do at WDW albeit at only a few select locations within the parks) so I thought DLR might. Guess I'll have to make sure I bring plenty with us every day! Good thing is they have it in boxes now (sort of like juice boxes) that don't have to be kept cold so it might be worthwhile for me to bring a few extra of those every day.

Totally unrelated question but does anyone know how the airlines are about bringing milk through security? When DD was a baby it was no big deal to bring water to mix formula but now that she is 2 I don't know if they will allow me to bring 4-6 sippy cups of soy milk through security (we have a long trip - will take us about 8 hours to get to SNA assuming no flight delays).

We were able to find it, but we had to ask for it. Also, there's a convenience store next door to the Candy Cane Inn that carries it (or at least it did a year ago).

I would think that you could bring it in the same way that you can bring in a few juice boxes in a diaper bag. They just frown at bringing in things like full coolers or buckets of chicken.

Oh, wait... I totally misread your question. You wanted to know if TSA would have a problem with it, not Disneyland security.

It all depends on how old your child is... for my 2 year old, they allowed a couple of juice boxes in our carry on luggage. I'm guessing the soymilk in the drink boxes would be similar, but likely not if it's in a sippy cup. May be better to pack an empty sippy cup and bring the little soy milk drink boxes to refill the sippy.

If your child were 5, they probably wouldn't allow the drink boxes through. Of course, everything currently seems to weigh on the whims of your particular TSA agent. :sad2:

Unfortunately they will not allow this, unless perhaps you could get a note from a doctor saying it's medically necessary that she have soy milk, but I'm assuming you won't be able to get that. They are still incredibly strict on the no liquids rule.

You can check the cardboard cartons in your checked baggage though, obviously put them in Ziploc bags.

Thanks for all the feedback! I think as far as the airport goes I'll try to get through with one or two cups of soy milk but if that doesn't work as long as the airport has a Starbucks I should be able to get some for her after going through security. Just hate to pay so much for it! But, as someone mentioned above, it is highly subjective to the TSA agent you get. Last trip to WDW they waved us through with our bottles of water (for baby formula) but then on the way back they took our bag and tested the bottles. :confused3

Again, how lenient they are depends on the agents and the airport, but here is the TSA's official stance on the subject of formula/juice: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/children/formula.shtm

It also depends on your particular airport's definition of "toddler".

TSA is no joke, though! A few unfortunate DISboarders have posted about having their souvenir Disney snow globes confiscated because they were over the 3.4 oz. allowance. :sad1:

We are a family of cow dairy free people. I have found soy milk at the bakery on main street for my soy latte, and at the Disneyland Hotel's coffee house, at the GCH's bar, where they make espresso in the A.M., and the PPH again in bar area where they make espresso drinks in the A.M., and at the bookstore in Downtown Disney where they also make espresso drinks. I am not certain about any other locations within the DLP though. I understand how important finding the milk is. We have traveled with rice milk in our luggage before 9/11, but have not tried it since.

I asked my friend's hubby who works for TSA at TUS (he replied quickly, gotta love FB), his reply was:

Just have it separated from your bag when you send it through. It might not be a bad idea to get a note from a doctor stating that they need it... That never hurts...

So, get the note and you're good taking some through! :thumbsup2

Wow, that's good to know! :thumbsup2

Try Jamba Juice in Downtown Disney also. They make delicious steel cut oats in soy, so they may sell it also.

Yes I spoke with a chef at Disney and he told me the Blue Ribbon Bakery (I think that's what its called, on Main Street) has soy milk.
