I have seen this pop up in a couple places but I can't seem to find any real evidence to support it.
TSR6 said:I confirmed this about 3-4 weeks ago, but nobody knows the exact date in which it will go into effect. I was told "by the end of the month" - being april, but that is just about gone. I was also told that it will only be the dance clubs that will change - and that the comedy clubs would keep the current age restrictions.

YoHo said:I remmember in 1996 when the entire place was ticketed that the 21 and older crowd had wristbands which made it easier for the shot girls wandering the streets to tell who they could serve.
TSR6 said:Jason & Yoho - Technically, the bartenders are still supposed to card people with wristbands.
Danny - True....street wise at least. The clubs themselves I think are going a little more exclusive. A lot of things are going to change over the course of the next year.
YoHo said:That must be a new law in the past 10 years then, because I can assure that in 1996 I spent 7 nights in a row getting loaded at PI and not once was I carded besides at the bridge.
It is the same as being carded by the bouncer at any bar on a busy night. The bartenders then do not need to waste time checking. I mean we're talking about shot girls wandering the streets and beer vendors in the middle of the street. It would have been totally impractical for them to do more then verify the wrist band. Which is why they had that system in the first place. If you're going to require the bartenders to inspect IDs, then the wristbands are just pointless added cost.
