Does anyone know if DVC pool hopping will work at BLT?

I wonder if they will still allow it for the regular contemporary pool, which is a real snooze--or is the new one replacing the old one? We were at the contemporary at the end of 03 and one reason we haven't returned is that the pool is so lame.

I don't know about long term. But the near plan at Contemp is once BLT is running , the main Contemp pool will get closed for referb and guests will use the new BLT pool while work is done. So I doubt if there will be any pool hopping allowed.

According to this thread the main pool at the Contemporary will be closed for renovation starting this Janurary and will finish sometime in March. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1948227

Also last month when I was at WDW I asked a DVC Cast Member if regular Contemporary guests would be allowed to use the new pool at Bay Lake Tower, the way all guests staying at the Wilderness Lodge can use the villas pool in the DVC section. Anyway I was told because it would be an amenity of the Resort, all registered guests staying at the Contemporary could use it.

Until Disney shows any interest in policing pool hoppers, it's a moot point.

These days it seems like every time I go to a family gathering, someone starts telling me about their recent Disney trip and all of the different resort pools they visited. :scared1:

Disney doesn't exactly go overboard to tell people that they should only use the pool at the resort at which they are registered and they don't do nearly enough to police it at the pool (yes, even at SAB.)

Might as well continue to allow DVC members this perk since non-owners are getting the same benefit via Disney's apathetic stance. :confused3

I agree completely and don't think it is DVC members pool hopping that results in not enough chairs at the pools. Just back from AKV and SSR and although the weather was very hot there was never a lack of chairs at the pools. The weekend days seemed to be the busiest and made me wonder if some of it was due to local people being there.
