I do not have a AAA membership but I am considering getting one. Does anyone know what the onsite hotels at univeral offer as far as discounts for AAA? Are there any park ticket discounts online?

I'm editing this now because I know none of you will know exact amounts. However, I've never used AAA and hear that i can get discounted tickets and discount food in parks, etc. I have no idea what though and can't seem to find out any information without joining first. We are going to disney for 6 days and universal for 2 and have a room booked at rack rate at universal for one night. It looks like basic AAA membership will cost around $52. Is it worth it? We are not staying on site at Disney.

Thanks,
Debbie

All you need to do is call Loews hotels directly and ask for the AAA rate at all three hotels for the day or days you will be staying. I also went into my local AAA office and got the prices of their tickets. I don't have the list anymore so I can't give you that answer. I bet if you call them they will give you the amts over the phone too. Good Luck!!

depending on the dates you book and type of room, you can get up to 30% off the room rate. that is if the dates fall into the great discount periods.

remember the if's..

you get 10% off food and merch in the parks and some places in city walk.
this is the same discount the preferred annual pass for uo offers holders.
you can get discounts off the park tickets also.

you can also use the aaa card to do online shopping for Target, similar stores, flower orders, etc and if you go thru their website, get 20% discounts at times.

it is good for hotel discounts in all the states.

i pay $42 for a year membership for my AAA. it is the basic one.
rates are determined by where you reside.

it is worth it's weight in gold.

I phoned Universal and asked for the CAA rate and the normal rate for the hotels on the date we wanted to go, I didn;t book, I think figured out how much a CAA membership would be, on a two night stay August 20 and 21 at HRH it saved us 74.00, since CAA was only 72.00 with tax I bought it, I figure I will get 10 percent off some food and stores as well, I still have CAA for a year if I need it, phone and ask it doens;t cost anything to ask

the CAA and AAA rates are the same.
both are honored.

sounds like you will come out ahead with the CAA booking.

all the shops and food places in the park will honor your AAA/CAA for the 10% discount.
show them the card before they ring up your order/food, or merch.

that 10% off will add up for you over those 2 days.

you can book with the card and modify your room rate later if you find a better deal.

Thanks Macraven, I figure if I can use the CAA card for 10 percent off merchandise and food then bonus, can you use it at just the sit down restaurants or can I use it for any beverage and food purchase, how about at the pool restaurant at HRH, for a family of 4 with two teenagers the food adds up quickly, I am going to keep checking room rates to see if they go down before we leave

i have used it at the counter services and sit downs in the park.

i had to show my AAA card first, when i ordered.

the discount will show on the receipt.

when i ordered from the hrh pool, one of my friends picked up the tab.
they used their ap card at that time.

call and ask if the AAA discount is valid at the pool.
