I've been reading up on it and it's interesting but I wonder how useful it is. Does anyone actually use it and do you think it's worthwhile?

I'm not sure the intent is utility, but rather some more intangible quality, such as harmony, energy, or an ethic associated with specific rules of alignment. As such, it falls into a category of concepts that are as worthwhile to each person in their own measure. It's a bit like asking whether painting a room blue is worthwhile; clearly it will depend on the room, the shade of blue, but most importantly, it will depend on subjective perceptions of each person, including not only the judgement of how well it achieves a specific purpose, but also the subjective determination of what purposes are of merit and how much.

I've read a little bit about it, too. I admit I am skeptical about some of the premises, especially the bit about having a money corner, relationship corner, etc. I do buy into the overall concept that a person's environment dictates how they feel. A friend of mine is an art therapist and she's familar with feng shui. She likes their theories of design, especially having balance and a set-up that allows energy to flow. I also like that feng shui has water as a key element. I find water to be very soothing.

Let me know if you find out anything else about it.

It's an interesting subject, isn't it! I would love to know more about it from someone who practices it personally. I also agree with Bicker and Sherri. :)

I've heard people say that if you believe that something will work, it may cause you to be positive enough to help make things happen, consciously or subconsciously. In other words, it wouldn't actually be the feng shui making good things happen but actually you yourself because of your belief. Maybe that's the effect of feng shui?

Maggie, I'd love to get some feedback from people who are deeply into this myself. It doesn't look all that complicated and I could use all of the help I could get! ;)

We employ many techniques in our home and businesses and while I wouldn't say we live and die by it, we do use it quite a bit. I first read a book called 101 Feng Shui Cures and that got my curiosity peaked.

Hong Kong Disneyland was designed using Feng Shui and most major corporations in the world have had their headquarters offices feng shui'd (okay, that's probably not a real word!)

Again, I will echo the words of others on the thread, if it works for you, then yes, it's useful. If you believe it's a bunch of hooey then it's not going to work for you. The human mind is a wonderful thing and we can self-fulfill just about any belief ;)

I actually have been telling others that I am feng shui-ing my life. I figure it's been part of my Chinese culture for ages (centuries, in fact) they must be doing something right. :smooth:

I think it's worthwhile, especially ridding myself of physical and mental clutter.

I practice it and have found my life improved in many different ways since I have started the process.

Just subscribing because I'd love to hear more about Feng Shui.
