Does anyone have Walmart+? Is it worth it?

So, I usually get groceries at Walmart, as the decicated grocery store in town has horrible parking. I've never had Groceries delivered, but I occasionally use pick up servoce. Anyway, They are offering Walmart+ for 1/2 price thru tomorrow. Is it worth it? Will they deliver to OKW? When you shop in person do you scan your own groceries on your phone?

Thanks, as I am debating whether or not to try it with this special price.

I have it because one of my credit cards pays the monthly fee. The only benefit I really use is the free Paramount+ subscription.

Occasionally I will order something from Walmart but the majority of time I go to Amazon out of habit and don't remember to price check Walmart to see if it is cheaper than Amazon.

Edited to add:
When I do order from Walmart it tends to be delivered from the store rather than from a central warehouse. The items come usually come same or next day and are delivered by Doordash which is paid for by Walmart.

My MIL has it - she is wheelchair bound though and it's the easiest way for her to shop. She loves it!

I have it - I also got it during a 1/2 price promotion. We get groceries delivered sometimes, it's not a constant thing we do but it's been nice to have the option when we have busy weeks with work or my daughters activities. The downside - its customary to tip which I totally get, but if I'm going to be out and about, I can just do a curbside pick up for free instead. I have enjoyed free shipping on some clothing items (social media makes me think I need them haha) or random other things - but I agree for the most part it's just as easy to do that with Amazon. We have used the fuel discount a whopping two times I think? We don't often get gas at the Walmart pumps and when we do, we often forget about the + perks. My husband has utilized the Paramount+ streaming and likes that a lot.

We do not remember to scan as we shop at Walmart - oddly enough that is the ONLY way we shop at Sams now. It just feels different to do that at Walmart for some reason.

So my wrap up for my family is that for 1/2 price, it's not been a bad thing. I do not plan to renew at full price though.

We have it, got it through the half price offer. It's paid for itself in free shipping for me. I've found a few things on there at a lower price than Amazon. I also use it to scan my groceries as I shop, and we use it for Paramount+, so it's well worth it for us.

I have been using it since 2020 and like it. It’s very convenient and I use a lot of the perks. I have not tried Scan and Go because for whatever reason it will not let me log into the app. It’s the weirdest thing but I honestly don’t care enough to try and troubleshoot it. Two things- make sure to go through and make your substitution preferences or you will end up with some weird things and they auto add the tip as a percentage which is crazy high so make sure you go check ‘custom’ and replace with what you think is appropriate. Overall grocery delivery and free shipping on any amount make it more than worth the price for me.

Here are the perks

I figured I'd try it at half price but didn't see the link anywhere, can you share a link that you have?

I've had it since the beginning. We have 75% of groceries delivered, usually once a week so it pays for itself.

I went to the WalMart app on my phone, and typed WalMart+ into the search bar, and the offer popped up. I went ahead and got it.

I don't shop at Walmart so no. I do have Prime though.
Yes, but rural areas don't have a lot of choices in grocery stores. We have HEB, with horrible parking, Walmart, Dollar General, and Dollar Tree, and a Mexican grocery/carniceria, which has decent meats, but everything else is pretty expensive.

I have it and used it for my last DVC trip to get groceries delivered to the resort. No issues there and they notified me about a particular product outage so that I could select a replacement.

Not the + but I gave WalMart delivery a try; one and done for me. My single order ended up being 5 different deliveries which were to be delivered to my office; two local deliveries - one that was left at my office after hours and two via FedEx and one USPS. One item was food item in a box, was just in a shipping bag - it was crushed. Finally all items were supposed to have been same day delivery, the 3 shipped items were not and one item was nearly a week late. The whole experience was a complete mess with poor communication from the start. Never again.

I've used delivery for cat food, and a couple non-grocery items when the local store was out of stock. I didn't have any issues, though I usually do use Amazon.

@Chuck S - I'd heard they had greatly improved the online shopping/delivery experience - what I got was a complete cluster. I'll stick to Amazon, Chewy or other local places.

I got it on the half price deal as well. We use it for Paramount mainly. I like the Scan and Go but it won't work with fabric and our store still has issues with anything that needs weighed (like bananas have to be scanned at the self checkout, the scales in the store that print the barcodes still don't work properly). I've used the food delivery more than I thought - actually this weekend when I was sick I had groceries delivered. I just didn't want to go out. It was also helpful at Disney when we forgot my kids noise cancelling headphones for a last minute delivery as well.
I was in my local store last week and found out they upgraded their Wi-Fi (you now have to log in with your Walmart account email and password) and Walmart+ was a MUCH better experience than prior. So if anyone is still having issues in store, see if their Wi-Fi has upgraded yet - you might not be connected properly.

Yes, it drives me crazy, make an order of 7 things, it comes in four shipments. I’d rather wait two extra days and get one shipment.

But worst shipping award goes to Amazon. An order of appliance blubs were sent in a manila envelope. Anyone want to guess what happened?

I hope they upgrade ours. It's kind of spotty. We don't have the "fancy" barcode scales, either. I've used them at HEB Central Market in San Antonio, though.

OK, got it, thanks. I do curbside Walmart all the time but with winter nearly here I tend to prefer delivery and like the idea of giving people a job where they can make good money in tips in odd hours where they otherwise might not be able to get a job. I use Instacart most, lets see how this goes.

Not only do we have Walmart+, but I upgraded to InHome.

InHome allows them to enter your home and put cold groceries away or put other things on the counter. While I won’t use that type of service and still have my bags left outside, what is super worth it to me is that the deliveries are done by Walmart employees and there is no tipping expectation. Tipping was getting out of control having Walmart+ deliver from the store every week/10 days, so paying a little extra on the front end and never having to tip ends up saving quite a bit.

If you plan to use Walmart+ with frequency, I would price out the InHome add on.

Oh! And another nice benefit of Walmart+ is gas savings. You can use Sam’s Club pumps even without being a member there and at Exxon (I think), you use the app to save some cents off of the price. It’s not a ton, but gas is not cheap where we live, so it does help a little.
