Does anyone have T-Mobile Prepaid?

I've been looking over prepaid phones (Tracfone, Virgin Mobile, etc.) for the last couple of months, and stumbled upon the T-Mobile plan. We just bought two Nokia phones (after rebate, $50 each including 60 minutes each in airtime) and will add 1000 minutes each - for $100.00 each, and that is good for a year.

Does anyone else have them?

I just did this for myself, mom and grandma. We bought samsung phones and plan to do the $100 thing as well. So far I've been very happy with the Tmobile service, I've been on their network for about 1 month. When I researched it, this was the best deal going for people like us that rarely use the phone (emergency or next best thing type calls). My grandmother was paying $25/mth to have a phone that she used 3 times in 2 years (one call I made!). This is going to save her a fortune!

I have tmobile family plan in the Boston area. My friend had a traditional plan but switched it to the tmobile prepaid plan. Other than the minutes issue she has not noticed any change in service/reception etc. If tmobile works well in your area it should be the same. I have personally used my tmobile in all 4 disney world parks, pop century, downtown disney, Port Canaveral before the cruise etc and never had a problem. The phone did not work well at the airport.

Thanks! We have been paying just over $70 a month for a conventional plan for the two of us through Cingular. I will use the phone a little for work - but even if I get 2000 minutes in a year for me, and 1000 for my husband, that won't be more than $400.00 for the year, including two phones (with an additional 60 minutes per phone).

Getting the prepaid plan should save us at least $450.00 this year - and more the next, if we don't need to buy more phones (I am a klutz!) Now that we have Vonage, I don't need the cell phone for long distance anymore. :)

I checked into TracFone and Virgin Mobile, but this seemed the best - 1000 minutes is good for a year!

We are also looking at this one. Can you buy any phone, or does it have to be one from them?

I think you have to buy it through them. We should have ours within a few days, so I can tell how I like it then. I just really liked that we could get the 1000 minutes up front for .10 a minute, and I don't have to worry about referrals, or monthly usage, or anything like that. The phones were about $50 each after rebate for the least expensive Nokia.
