Does anyone have info on the Paradise Pier Hotel?

My family and I are staying at the PPH soon and know almost nothing about it. I would appreciate some info on things about it.

Not sure what you're really asking. It's a nice hotel with beds and bathrooms. It's the farthest Disney resort hotel from the parks. There's a lobby. And parking too.

If you have a park view room it has some of the best views of all the on site hotels. Do not follow the signs from the hotel to the park, they kind of take you the long way... It is easier to walk toward the GCH hotel (crossing the street at the light) and cut through heading out to DTD... I think someone has a map or something that explains it. I personally love the PPH, especially the character breakfast there, it's pool leaves something to be desired tho.

There is a Paradise Pier Hotel thread on this forum -- HERE. There is lots of good info in the thread, and some photos sprinkled throughout.

It's a great hotel. I just went on my first trip to Disneyland, so I know I'm not an expert on all of the hotels. There's a sundries store that closes at 9 PM that will have things you may have forgotten to pack, or ran out of during your trip. The character breakfast is wonderful. You get to meet Mickey without waiting in the line at Toontown. You can have dinner at the same place, without characters. There is also a quick service breakfast that was enjoyable. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the Grand Californian. You can cut through the Grand Californian to get to the park pretty quickly.

446 posts to read, youch

It's better than 20 different threads about the PPH, with all sorts of mixed info between threads. The OP asked about PPH info and there is a thread about the PPH, which is why I linked it.

The GCH thread is even longer, but people still post in it. If threads are long it's usually because they have good info in them, or there was something worthwhile sticking around for.

You can also use the GCH guest entrance to get into DCA. We have stayed at PPH a couple of times and have always had a great stay! Have fun!

I have stayed twice and enjoyed my stays there. And would stay there in a heartbeat again.

We LOVE the theme park view rooms.

And regarding the PPH thread, start at the end and work backwards...skim it, but it really does have a lot of good information.

To the OP, your question was a bit on the vague side...also a simple search in the forums would have brought you a wealth of information. :)

I love that advice, Kristan -- to start at the end and work backwards, and skimming. I have suggested that in the past when it comes to the giant Dining thread (which will be coming to an end soon, as it is finally -- after years and years -- getting close to reaching the page limit). For a thread that is long but is clearly still active, if the posts on page 1 are not updated to reflect anything current then it is definitely worthwhile to start at the end for the most recent info.

It's almost my favorite, well its a tie between PP and VGC.

I LOVE that you can book the PP, park view, upper floor. And what a view that IS! (it's a crap shoot to get the World of Color view at VGC). I could stare at the Carsland mountains forever.

I think DL Hotel is the furthest walk to the parks, IF you cut thru the Grand Californian lobby from PP. (I have stayed at all 3 Disney Hotels and VGC 3X or more each).

I like the quick service place for breakfast items in the morning, a "quick" elevator ride down to it, too. (WELL, the elevators are another story!)

We've stayed at Paradise Pier a few times and last August we upgraded for "one time", lol, to the DLH.
At that time we already had booked our Tinkerbell Half rooms at PPH. before we left the DL Half weekend my husband said "Call Bill at the travel agent and have him switch us". The kids had such a wonderful time and so did we. A true Disney bubble.

Now due to finances we are staying at PPH for a surprise trip for hubby and that's fine because we like it too!
