Does anyone have a picture of the view without the hat?

Just curious…I've been there before the hat but I cannot find a picture of the view of the theater without the hat blocking. Anyone have any?

Not "my" pictures, but ones I was able to find online.

Thanks! Looking at those, I think I am going to miss the hat. Seems kind of blah without it.

I think it looks great! I never noticed how cool the theater was before - looks fab!

1) So, YOU were the TWO people in the known universe that liked the hat.
2) Always wondered who they were.

:cool1:

:rotfl: I don't hate the hat but hated that it was placed where it was ( I understand due to whatever legal issues re: the theater ) and the fact that it was nothing but a place to buy pins. What a wasted opportunity for something M & G with Sorcerer Mickey :confused3

Rusty do you think it will be relocated anywhere ( just your personal opinion nothing stated from Disney ) ? I would think near Animation Studio or would that not work ? Would hate to think it just gets broken up and trashed like so many things from Toon Town. Of course that hat is enormous.

I think it would be good as the top for a dj booth/dance party area. I am certainly fired up it to be removed though.

My DH says we saw MGM without the hat. I did remember us commenting about the hat so I guess we were there before it? lol. Funny how it looks like there is just a linear direct path to the theater and then when you put that hat there it doesn't feel like that anymore. The area in front of the theater just seems open and empty.

I think something will replace the hat. Just my speculation.

Yup. It went up in 2001, so if you visited MGM on any of the first three trips in your signature, you saw the park heartless.

I don't mind the old view, but the ear tower as the icon then?

Compared to Tree of Like, Castle and SE-could really use something IMO.

Comparing those pics to the pics from my trip last year...I looks really different.

This is going to require the talents of a true Disney trivia expert:

There is a photo somewhere on the interwebs of the largest hidden mickey in WDW. It is an aerial view of DHS (MGM Studios at the time) that showed a classic mickey head formed by the layouts of various streets and plazas. When the BAH was installed it ruined the symmetry.

Anyone know what I'm referring to? Robo?
