If so, do you like it?

I would really like to get a digital camera before our trip and I am considering this one. I don't know very much about digital cameras but this one looks fairly user friendly.

Any input is appreciated :D . The model I'm considering is CX6445 and it's a 4.0 mega pixel.

I recently purchased the DX7630 and I LOVE it! It's so easy to use, easy to transfer pics to the computer and their software is easy to use too! I say go for it! ::yes::

We have the Koday Easyshare DX4530. I bought it earlier this summer and it's easy to use. Haven't used it that much but we will when we head to Florida next month. I bought 512mb digital card. I just download the pictures to the laptop, haven't printed anything yet, but the printer is set up to do so.

Thanks for the replies :D . Do you have the camera dock also? I'm just wondering if it is worthwhile to have the dock. I don't think I would do much printing. I would probably upload to a site and do it that way or take the camera to Walmart for printing.

We had one and I absolutly LOVED it but we had it less than two years and it quit working. I don't know what happened but it won't even turn on anymore. We have replaced the batteries countless times and tried everything and its just dead.

I honestly don't know if I would buy one again because of this. Two years isn't in my opinion very reliable especially since we paid $300 for it.

It was easy to use and took good pictures but I just don't know.

That stinks. I'll have to check in to what type of warranty comes with it.

I love my kodak easyshare. I have had ours for 3 years (we got a base too as we find it easier to charge and print from it.) I work in a primary school (children aged 4 - 11) and we have 5 in the school that the children use as well and they get on really well with them. We have never had any problems with it and would recommend them to anyone.

My EasyShare DX 4600 bit the dust just like Beauty's after about 2 years of use. It just stopped working in the middle of a field trip...weird. I never has a camera freeze up like that.

However, before that I LOVED the pics that it produced. I am now looking at the Canon as a replacement!

Good luck with which ever camera you buy and have a great trip!

I JUST PURCHASED THE 7440 4.0MP, AND IT IS SO EASY TO USE!I also have the printer dock, but I haven't used it yet! It has a lot of different setting, and some day I hope to use them all.

DH has a 6330 and he really like the ease of use with it and the quality of photos. He's had it for just over a year - BUT -he's experiencing the same problem as others on this thread. The camera won't turn on. :(

I think I'll be calling Kodak in the morning as letting them know that this isn't a random problem....

We've had ours a little over 2 years and it's still working (knock on wood!). I love it. It's very easy to use. The dock was a waste of money IMO.

Recently got the DX6490; so far so good! It's easy to use! We got the printer also; but haven't tried it yet. Here'e hoping it lasts more than two years! Oh well, our old Olympus still works great after all these years. Think we'll hang on to it as a back up!

I got my easyshare 7430 for my birthday and I absolutely love it!!! I also got the printer dock. I got them through circuit city and got printer paper and ink cartridge and a printer dock travel bag with a detachable camera bag all for free for purchasing the dock($150) at the same time as the camera($240). Anyhow, it is easy to use and the picture quality is excellent. I personally don't see a need to get more that 4 MP. If anything, more optical zoom would be nice but really not necessary for what I need. Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll enjoy it!!!

I have the DX6490 and I love it, but I dont love the Easy Share software. I just use another program I am more comfortable with, no biggie.
I use an online service (snapfish) for all of my printing.

Mine is 3 years old and going strong. I love it.

Our first experience with a digital was getting DD a Kodak LS743 for graduation in June. She picked it out. She likes it (easy to use) , the pictures are nice...the dock was a waste of money in her opinion...
and I absolutely HATE the EasyShare software. It seems to take forever to do anything and seems to muck up the PC in general.

I get my 35 mm film processed on a CD and the EasyShare stuff gets all whacked out just trying to e-mail pics off my CD's.

Bethany, what software do you use??

I LOVE mine! I have the DX 6440, and it is soooo easy to use. I love the docking station as well. I have the printer one. One of the things that I love about that, is the old pics that I scanned into our computer (pics of my dad when he was very little) can be transfered over to the printer docking station and I could print them out. Some of the pics were pixeled (sp? even don't know if that is a word! LOL) but most come out really nice, and it was a Godsend when I was working on my dad's heritage album.

I never thought I would go digital, but I am thrilled that we did!!!!

Lots of people seem to hate the EasyShare software, but I have a slightly different question. I have the DX6340, and from time to time I have trouble uploading pictures to my computer. I plug the camera in and turn it on and it blinks like it should, but my computer isn't seeing it for some reason, so the pictures obviously aren't transferring. This has happened once or twice before, but I restarted my computer and it was fine. This has been going on for about a week now. Anyone experience anything similar?

We have the DX 4330 (I think that is right) and the transfer/recharging dock. The camera is working fine, so far, but this July, the dock simply stopped working. We could have bought a new one for $80 but bought a battery recharger instead (duracell at $25). I hope it continues to work because it is easy and I feel it takes good photos.
