Cleaning is my least favorite thing to do, so this is my lazy way:
I work and dh is home. I try to minimize doing it by making sure there is no clutter. During the week, the only meal usually cooked is supper and dishes are done immediately after. If anything is in the sink, it drives me crazy and I wash it (though I don't like to dry dishes to I air dry and reuse them

). If I cook, dh washes dishes and vice versa. Laundry is done daily and I fold in piles and the kids are responsible for hanging/putting up their own. If I'm doing the laundry I put the shirts from the washer on hangers and hang them on top of the door jams, they air dry within the day and less to fold. Beds are made up every morning. None of us sleep with a top sheet so it takes all of 30 seconds to straighten the comforter up and stack pillows. Shoes have bins in the closet, unless its the current pair which is in one living room corner. Litter is scooped daily and we take turns as no one likes to do that (dh empties, cleans, & refills weekly). I wipe down the sink & toliet seat (thx to ds, lol) daily with wipes I keep on the br counter. The kids fight over the vaccuum, so that usually his weekly chore. Our apartment has 3 rooms to vaccuum and a hall, so not much. The kitchen is swept after supper after the kids wipe down the table since they drop crumbs and one of my cats is messy and knocks food out of the bowl. Toys, dvds, books, whatever have to be put up when not in use by the person who used it and their is a shelf or bin for everything. Trash is emptied daily, usually by dh.
We have very few knick knacks and no coffee tables as I like an open space with minimal dusting. We dust and windex a couple times a month all at one time. We usually do this on a Sunday morning-start in the bedrooms & dust the furniture then onto the living room. Next, windex the tv screens, bathroom mirror, and screen doors. All the sheets and pillowcases are thrown into the washer/dryer in one load. In the kitchen, I use wipes to wipe down the counters, appliances, sink, and cabinets. Sweep the kitchen & bathroom, then front & back porch, then vaccuum what was swept & all the rooms, then mop. Last is the bathroom toliet and the tub which I'd spray cleaner in and let it sit. Then I shower in my clean tub

. It takes about 2 hours at the most since there isn't any picking up to do beforehand.
Closet cleaning is done 3 times a year for the kids since they share a closet. Dh already packed up summer clothes (shorts, tanks, ss dresses, etc) and unpacked fall/winter. It's turned cold quick, so shortly we have to have the kids try on everything from last year to see what fits, then put up most of the short sleeves. In the spring, we pack up all the fall/winter and repeat the routine.
